The Story of Tearnei

A Walk in the Park

So, there I am walking, well hovering, around with a few good friends. We are nimbly being led down the garden path....okay, so that is not quite true. Here is the real story:

Its a dark and stormy night. Well again, not really, its more a green and slimy night. Destruction is everywhere (and that part is true). We cannot get to the keep, and our leader Eragone has a great idea, let us approach from behind. "Okay", we all say and follow along, prepared to defend Fang Breaka keep with our lives; if we can get into it that is.

So the lot of us, and there are a good 10 or so, follow along, there is a cliff and a tree - and don't ask me how or why - but the tree moves and it gets me and it holds me in its clutches - until I am weak and weary and pass out. It is horrible, I lie there on the ground and wonder how long it will take for destro to find us and terminate my pitiful existence.

But wait, there is hope! In our group there appears a fellow rune priest - I was in such a daze I have forgotten his name, but I will never forget the potential for being brought back to my feet, when the tree moves! It get's him too! I don't know if it is just dwarves or rune priests the tree hates but in either case, I feel hope sink out of me and know I am done for.

Then out of nowhere, a miracle occurs. I am saved! A banner has been my rescue! (And let me tell you this isn't the first time-a friend with a banner is a good thing to have.) Anyway, I am navigated out of the treacherous roots of the tree, the other RP gets out of the roots and we are saved...

Okay, its only temporary, eventually we get rolled by the destro waiting at the keep. But, the story of the killer tree will live on forever in the hearts and minds of those who were there.

And there is the story - as near as I can remember, or choose to remember.

(I would like to apologize for not having the names of everyone there, I have managed to forget a few of the details, call it a mental block.)
