Saw a section was going to be made for wildstar but it's gone now.
Did interest die off? Still looking to play this game with gaiscioch.

The person that was organizing the saighdear decided against it.
I have my eyes set on Wildstar more or less because from what I've seen, it will be a very humorous MMORPG.
That's really the only reason. XD
I'm looking forward to WildStar too, but first I'd like to actually get in and experience the game. 1 main thing I hope it has is 1 persistent world. Individual zones separated from each other seems kind of pointless nowadays.
Same here. Wildstar is my next big MMO after everything I've seen. I have tons of interest in this game.
I know I had more interest before they announced the subscription fee. They said you can earn game time so I will have to see how that works.
I'll drop by nearer to launch to see if any guildies are gonna play so we can jump on the same server.
I feel like I should post up the official Wildstar flicks just to highlight the hilarity.
More stress test invites went out today, Hope many of you got in.
I didn't. ;_;
Seems like 10,000 friend keys just went out. So heads up, they are out there. I however did not get one. =(
I am interested in the game but I am curious of its release date in relation to ESO. We know ESO's but not Wildstar; however, I do expect it to be Q1 2014.
About the friend keys:
If you get a friend key, or send one.
If whomever you sent the friend key to gets banned, you get banned too.
And vice-versa.
From the streams that are out this game seems pretty much ready for release.
I am amazed that it's not getting much hype. It seems very solid and well made, specially for those who are interested in durgeons and raids.
If anyone has an extra friend key I would love to finally get to try this game out. Really looking forward to it.
I'm totally going to play a Stalker tank. Weird class combinations are my favorite! I would REALLY love for there to be a Gaiscioch guild to be made when this is finally released ;D
- Grys
I know Gaiscioch is going ESO and I'm definitely going to play, however, I'm a little more excited to actually play Wildstar. The classes appear to very interesting and look fun to play. I think both pve and pvp environments should be fun as well. Carbine has indicated a spring 2014 release. I wouldn't be surprised if it came out within a month of ESO.
Carbine has announced that they will have a separation of servers based on Playstyle.
So PvE, PvP, RP-PvE and RP-PvP.
I know I'll be going RP-PvP.
I will most definitely be purchasing wildstar. I hope that we can get a Saighdear set up before the game drops.
On a side note if anyone has an extra beta key kicking around, I have yet to be selected for anything beta related, and would be interested in one!
Lucasz//Ianto
I plan on giving WildStar a go as well. Definitely playing Dominion because Chua!
Even though beta keys are going out...unlike ESO which has been very generous in distributing keys, Carbine seems to be much more restrictive giving them out to the public.
Yep. I signed up for beta almost a year ago. Never have gotten an invite.
Wildstar giving away 40,000 beta keys now! http://t.co/b1jhmuRD6Z
You can expect them to make an open beta close to the launch date. They said something like that is going to happen.
So far this game is shaping up alot better tham most IMO. The gameplay seems excelent, the dungeons and adventures seem interesting. I am still amazed that not many people are interested in this.
The information about adventures recently release was very cool. They seem to be pretty replayable for an MMO content. The video is bellow.

Thought I'de respond to Matuk's post.
Matuk, there actually quite a lot of people interested in this game. You just won't find many people in GSCH playing Wildstar due to the guilds involvement with ESO and that being the next chapter. Also the decision not have Wildstar be a Saighdear was also more then likely due to the face that Wildstar is more of sci/fi mmo. GSCH has always been and always will be a fantasy oriented guild.
All that being said, I plan on playing this game once it goes live; I also think this game is shaping up to a really fun game. In its current stage the game is in a really good spot. Not many bugs and so far the games seems really polished. With how involved the devs are and there communication with their playerbase I can see this game lasting a long time.
Just because GSCH won't be officially be involved doesn't mean we cant spread the word within the guild. Though the guild as whole isn't interested I know plenty in the guild who are.
I am game for everything once the game launches. To be very honest i am putting alot more chips into this one than ESO. The only problem i seen so far is the fact that some of the content is oriented to 40 man groups (one raid and the warplot battles). Aside from that the game seems to focus more on game systems then ESO, it drank from all the current and older sources and improved them. You can see traces of what is good in WoW, Everquest 2, GW2 and some others in the game. I think it will make a wonderful game when released.
This game is growing on me after watching more and more videos on the official site. Locura and I like raiding, even if it is only casual raiding, the most as far as gameplay goes and this game appears to have great mechanics and what I hope to be fun dungeon running all the way from casual to hardcore. Definitely interested.

Well launch is a little over a month away. 2 more Beta Weekends? Anyone going to try to organize anything for a Saighdear?
So are we planing on making a Sci Fi GSCH branch? Didn't really like ESO, but this game i can get into..played last beta weekend...great stuff
So are we planing on making a Sci Fi GSCH branch?
Probably not.
Well unfortunately it still looks like the guild won't have a Saighdear for this game, but those of us in the guild can still meet up since it is my understanding a lot of people are looking to play including another member that is a friend irl.
Just have to select a faction and server and go from there. A new game with plenty of guilds that will be forming up, we can just join one as a group or one of us forms one, it just won't have any official affiliation with the family. As far as I know that is not against the rules, but I will double check or if someone knows for sure then let me know. I was at one point going to work to get the rank to form one, but unfortunately I just work too much and as a former guild leader, I know the time commitment needed and don't have it right now.
I know originally the Saighdear was going to go Exiles, but I won't lie that I'm a much bigger fan of the Dominion and the races that make up that faction. Was also hoping for a PvP server. With a lot of the devs being old school WoW devs, I'm hoping for some of the fun world PvP that used to be a source of good times in vanilla WoW.
Honestly though, I'm up for whatever, so if people want to get this discussion going and make some choices then I say let's do it. I like ESO, but Wildstar is one that I have enjoyed more (although I will miss all the voice acting that you get in ESO).
Hey guys, there is also some interest drumming up within Philanthropy. Thats a Rift guild that kinda threw a blanket over a lot of Gaiscioch members. Maybe between the two player bases we can get a somewhat decent sized guild together. Any interest?
That wouldn't be a bad idea if a lot of Gaiscioch members are already a part of it. Any information on what they are selecting?
Not yet. There are initial talks, like in here. I'm going to try and get a bit active on this since I like the game and want a good home.
I and a few friends will be rolling Exile on the PVE-RP server (names not announced yet). If you pre-ordered then there will be a time to reserve a single Character name and Guild name. If Philanthropy decides on something please post it here so we know.
Thanks.
Theyre really dragging their feet over in Philanthropy. So it may very well be that my wife and I, and whoever else from Philanthropy, ends up following you. I would prefer an RP-PVE server. I dont RP, but I prefer RP servers for some reason. And I am fine with either faction. I absolutely love the Chua, but overall prefer the exile races to the dominions. Please keep me/us informed where youre headed.
I'll be in Wildstar and would echo the RP-PvE server suggestion. I personally prefer the Exiles, but the blue side seems to be how I go in most games. Would love to start playing something with the Family again (even unofficially), ESO just wasn't my cup of tea.
Been playing in all the beta weekends with Briin/Locura and having a blast. We found a guild to play with that is rather large that will have one guild on each faction on different servers. Would love to have been with our family here but at the time we were looking around a couple months ago there wasn't much interest or organization here sadly.
Hopefully once everyone from the family settles in on a server and guild I can make an alt to play and come join y'all.
I am installing the beta atm, going to take a peek at it this weekend.
I am going to play when the game releases. Would be nice if we could figure out a server to play and a faction.
I have pre-ordered, the more I played it the more I enjoyed it. I have played on the server nexxus since day one of betas way back when and plan to stay there.
I've spent a bit more time in it now with the Open Beta and I've found it hard to decide if I want to hop into ESO or WS these last few days! They're such different games, and what they both are I find very appealing. My fiance is a WoW girl and shies away from trying new games but she tried WS for a few hours and I could tell she liked it more than all the other MMOs I've had her try.
Not enough time to play everything I want to play!
I haven't really kept track of this game much but watching the few videos and looking at the website, it looks kinda fun. I have a couple of questions that maybe some of you who have played can answer for me.
It looks like a pretty PvP centric game from the little I can glean off the website. Is that the impression most of you have gotten?
I've read how the fight mechanics are very action orientated. I'm getting a bit tired of the whole action mmo stuff but then I see how some have stated it's a WoW clone. Combat in WoW is not exactly what I would call action orientated though. What's your opinion on that?
Kriggles, can you let me know what guild you are joining? PVE or PVP? If nothing takes off guildwise my wife and I will be looking for a good home.
Bentmer, I havent played on a pvp server (if there is one) but it doesnt seem particularly pvp-centric. No.
I think most people draw parallels to WOW because of the artistic direction of the game, tbh. It has nothing to do with the combat or content (most MMO's being like WoW in that category).
The game seems pretty fleshy. With a tongue in cheek approach to the overall story and atmosphere. And it's bright and sorta cartoony. So I see the WoW comparisons. But its really its own game.
@ Bentmer: The combat is more like Tera than Wow, with a telegraph system. You are also restricted in the number of spells you can put into a build at any one time on your hotbar. There are a lot of youtube videos about the combat system. The majority seem accurate.
The videos and humour are great concepts, and I would have liked to see more of that in the actual game.
After thinking on it for a few months, we decided not to play it. Not because it is bad in any way. It just was not awesome enough for me to want to allow myself time to play it.
For others, I can totally see why the game would grab them though, so give it a go and see what you think.
(I have become very selective about games recently, so much so that I am not really playing much of anything)
*Edit - it seems to have ample pve,as well as pvp, and the path choices are something interesting I liked about the game*
There is a ton of PvE content, actually a major focus has been on the PvE content, particularly end game. However, one thing to note is a big part of that end game focus is raiding of the 40 man variety. This game is actually a bit hardcore focused in some ways and honestly takes a few pages from old school WoW when it comes to raiding. I have heard the raids are extremely challenging because the telegraph system lets the developers get crazy with boss fights and it requires skill and coordination to beat them. That has actually been my only concern with the game because I know I do not have the time to be a hardcore raider. At the same time, I know Carbine is working on some stuff for the solo and small group players, but right now it seems like a lot of the stuff I have seen for the end game is dealing with the large raids.
PvP has a lot going for it as well with different game modes. It also has a bit of a hardcore element with the warplots since that is a 40 man party as well.
I'm still not sure what I'm going to do as far as where I will play. Seems like most I have seen on here are interested in doing Exiles while I am just not a fan of that faction. I also like the thought of going to a PvP server because I definitely miss the thrill and fun of open world PvP. Getting camped sucks, but the occasional gank here and there kept things interesting. While I would like to be with people from here, I think for this game I will end up joining another guild.
I like games that don't take itself too seriously so I liked the humor part of the game. I also kinda like the cartoony art and animation of the game. Realism is overrated lol. I don't understand why it seems all the newer MMO's restrict the number of abilities you can put on your hotbar. They can rationalize it all they want to but to me it is a restriction that limits my enjoyment of the game.
I know what you mean Mijj about being selective with games. I don't have a ton of free time to devote gaming as it is, so I'd rather make sure that I like it a lot. My problem is that I'm not a huge fan of the more action oriented combat and the small hotbars. Maybe I'm old fashioned but I kinda like having 40 hotbar keys lol.
I led a lot of 40 man raids in vanilla WoW and I think when people quote 40 man raids as more 'hardcore', they probably meant that it was just really hard to herd 40 people together multiple times a week. Because with the exception of 40 man Naxx and maybe the tail end of AQ40 and BWL, the vast majority of the boss encounters in vanilla WoW were simple tank and spanks.
Of course they could be referring to the ridiculous attunement quests and other various gateway things you needed to do just to get into a raid dungeon. But I'm not so sure people would tolerate that now these days. It's one thing to fondly recall running around LBRS to attune yourself for MC or UBRS for BWL or make the necklace for Onyxia but it's another thing to spend weeks just to get 40 people physically capable of stepping into a new raid zone. And that's not even talking about all there resistance gear collecting lol.
Later raid content in both WoW and Rift were far more creative and difficult in my opinion, it's just that they lost a bit of the 'epic' luster to it because you had only half as many people. So I do miss the 40 mans in some ways but I don't in other ways.
I'm a bit unsure at this point if I'm going to play it or not. I'm kinda playing around in ESO at the moment but the fact that I'm looking at Wildstar and ArcheAge says something about my dedication to that game lol.
Knowing your liking of Rift, I would recommend Archeage as being something to look at, but the downside is that there is not much raiding. (Which is good for some of us who do not have time any longer to raid!)
Similar hotbar/skill system to vanilla wow, but with flexibility on skills like Rift had. Lots of pve and cool crafting, and a lot of pvp if you want to do that.
The only issue is it is $150 to get in to alpha, which includes 3 months sub. You also get a lot of stuff the f2p players will not get.
FFXIV is an awesome game and I think better than anything coming out in 2014 for pve. Pvp is abysmal and we shall not speak of it again.
My pc broke last week, so I am waiting on a replacement shiny shiny mother of all gaming pcs as a reward for finally finishing my degree. At the moment my laptop lets me do word word word and word, with a bit of firefox for respite!
PS: I miss your long winded soliloquies in vent, Bentmer. Perhaps you could read us Hamlet in RC sometime!
I have played Wildstar since the earliest beta and have very much enjoyed it. I have not tried pvp but have been very happy with the pve I experienced. There is a great deal of humor and I like the cartoony characters.
Yeah I don't have a ton of time anymore to raid so that's not really an issue for me. Well I could do raiding again, but I'd most likely get kicked out of my house and have to wander the world homeless having adventures like David Carradine in Kung Fu.
I almost bought FFXIV but I had even less free time back when it came out again. It does look pretty cool from the little I've seen about it.
Congrats on graduating btw :) And yes I find it very sad that most of gaiscioch now has never had the pleasure of listening to me talk to myself for hours at a time. I almost miss the random people popping into our channel to ask questions right in the middle of a boss pull lol.
uhh back to Wildstar so I don't totally hijack this thread lol. I probably will buy it anyways, just because ArcheAge seems to be pretty far away from coming out. Sure I could use my time to play the 9000 games I bought on a Steam sale and never actually played, but that would be less wasteful which would make me feel un-American.
Something I wondered as I played Wildstar is if any of the guys who worked on Warhammer Online had a hand in it, because certain mechanics and a lot the feel of the game gave me that impression.
One thing we can do is create a circle - which is used for chat in order to get together.
I am interested in this title. I am trying to get into the beta (trying to use an old key that I overlooked) without a pre-purchase. This title looks really fun and I do not mind the WoW like theme. I just hope that it does not start of like WoW ended for me...
EDIT: Ah it seems that the Open Beta is closed and the website information has not been updated.
The wife and I have found a guild much like Gaiscioch. Large. Same core values. I wish everyone the best of luck in Wildstar!!!!
vhats the name of that wildstar guild .. is it exile .. im going to play it also :)?
do we have a group for this game?
Caledfwlch, doesn't look like there will be anything done in the family. The Saighdear that had originally been formed fell apart when the officer in charge ended up being unable to do it due to other obligations. Various discussions have taken place in this thread and others, but no decisions were ever made. Have a feeling that those interested in playing this game will be doing so with other guilds. I have made that decision myself and went with a guild that was listed in another post, but has since been edited out. I am not sure if listing the guild in the thread was a violation of policy for our guild so I will send it to you in a private message. If anybody else wants to know, please PM me or say so and I will send you the link. If that is not allowed either, then someone let me know and I will stop.
While it is a shame that Gaiscioch is not doing anything with this game, I am thankful at least that the guild allows us to be in other guilds so nobody that wants to play WS will have to leave.
@ Slowie Thant was me :) I got a job 6 months earlier than I expected to, so am finishing my degree at the same time as working, plus have to do admission to the bar which is time consuming. So my schedule did not fit in with the game release timing. For the same reason, I stepped down as an Elder because I cannot commit to anything gaming-wise for the next year or so. *Edit: I also did not feel the game was something I would enjoy long term*
Nobody gets in trouble for playing a non GSCH game with another guild. Feel free to play where it suits you, you still remain in GSCH as long as you are logging on to the website and want to be part of the community. (I did not edit anything in the original WS thread, so not sure what happened there).
No problem Hex, I definitely understand. Been a guild leader in the past and I know the time suck it can be, and it becomes even more of one when the game is brand new. At one point I was thinking about going nuts with activity so I could get enough points to form a WS Saighdear, but I knew that I just would not have the regular time to commit to keep it running on a day-to-day basis and that would be unfair to everyone involved.
Jobs and school take up a ton of time, especially when it involves law, which I'm guessing is the case based on the tidbit about bar admission. Congrats on the new job and good luck with finishing out school.
