Defiance for PC

A thread where those playing Defiance on the PC can add their ingame names.

Also, if you use steam and you would like to leave your steam name too that would be awesome!

 I found that you can only add people to your friend list when they are online, so if you get the message 'Player not found' when you search by name just have to keep trying or pop into Defiance chat when you are on (in our guild raidcall we have a room there).

I will add any others here as they get comfired on this thread. First Co op map we get access to is Liberate the Lost so I hope some of us will get together for that soon. 

I am still not sure if I will buy Defiance right now, but I was in a beta weekend and to my surprise I loved the game (I suck at FPS hehe). My steam name is Ktzala if anyone wants to add me :)

I preordered Defiance, but don't have any clue what my name will be.

I've preordered Defiance as well - feel free to add my Steam account: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198036900554/ For anyone not playing via Steam, I'll probably just register in-game with my old standby account name of "dallbee", and will determine character names at creation. I didn't play any of the Defiance betas, but based on my experience with Rift I expect good things. I doubt it'll be a full-stop substitute for GW2, but it should prove to be an entertaining alternative.

The only reason I am considering to pre-order it via Steam, is because they are giving Rift: Storm Legion, but I still don't have the $60 >_< I don't think it will be a substitute for GW2, they work in different ways but I must accept that Defiance is good! :)

Yep servers went live early! I will edit my post at the top of this thread with my ingame name - Saoirse - and will add anyone else's name who confirms their ingame name so we have a list. Also, don't forget we have a defiance section on our guild raidcall too, if we are chatting in game we can take it to raidcall too.

I have decided (against better judgement) to purchase Defience-PC. I was going to wait for the first month to pass, but... I am however finding the social function very difficult to use. I will make on last try today, before I leave for the week, to see if I can figure them out. Snazz; Miishra or By'Tor or Snazz See y'all laterz!

Snazz, do you have 3 characters with those names or are they the names you are considering and not yet chosen? Let me know when and I will add to the list on the first post on this thread. The social functions are a bit minimalist (to put it mildly LOL) but I know they have heard player feedback regarding chat function and they are 'workinonit'. So hopefully we shall see some improvement there. I haven't found any way to send a whisper to someone on my friend list - seems like if you want to talk you have to invite them to group? However, I do love the 'Go to Friend' feature. I have faith they will improve the social side soon. Apart from the difficulty talking through ingame chat I am really having a great time in the game, and I love the 4 wheel quad bike - so much fun!

I am tempted to get this game. Is everyone having fun with it? And if I do is there servers that we are playing on and doing things together? I am a big science fiction fan... and I miss good syfy on TV so if anything I am kind of excited about the TV show! Hopefully it will be good. oh and my steam is Tyremis

I decided to go ahead and pick up the game after watching the sneak peek for the show. I'm Gartok. Is there a clan that people are joining up in?

I've been on but have only seen 1 other lately. I have everyone added to my friends list. Are you guys using raid call or in game chat?

I have added people to my steam who use it and put their names here, but for Defiance ingame friends list I think they have to be online when you send the friend request, otherwise it says it can't find them :/

Total Biscuit posted a nice 40 minute first impression video. From the gameplay it looks really fun, sorta like Borderlands.

Thinking about picking up Defiance but I've got to wait to find it on sale since I'll need two copies and my game budget is on lockdown! I'll drop my name here when I finally grab it - if anyone sees it for around the $40-$45 mark let me know!

I only see it for $59.99 on Origin - which is good and bad cause I really hate Origin but $40 would be a good deal.

I almost bought it for that price Kalizaar, but at paypal it said the checkout price was $46. A bit of research shows that website uses SGD (Singapore dollar) currency. $46 isn't a bad price, but more than the $37 it says.

The social functions are really poor, they are probably the only real complaint I have about the game. Person has to be online for you to find them and then add as a friend. Also, I missed a couple of group invites last night from Daxx, no pop up, and the first I knew about it was when I opened the large chat window and saw a msg that said "Group invite expired" ... really LOL The have said they are working on chat, and that a large update is coming on 15th, plus they have been doing little patches everyday since launch, and that is encouraging. As for a clan, I would be happy to join one if someone feels like making one, I can pay scrip towards it (if we can trade script - not tried) but I am not at all a leader type so don't want to form one myself. Right now the clan features are really minimal, it would allow us to see who is online and send group invites, but we can do that through friend lists anyway, and clan chat is not very useful until the improve the chat interface. I did join a steam based clan, just the first one I stumbled across on Steam, but there isn't much interaction due to the chat issues, they do talk on vent though, however, I would rather be in a clan with you guys if anyone makes one. Oh and btw, haven't tested it but some have said we can send whispers in game by using: /w player name then type your msg, but again, until chat improves the person could easily miss your message. I use steam to chat and if we form a group to do a co op I will jump in our raidcall - we have a Defiance room if you scroll down near the bottom where the other game rooms are.

Beat the main missions and the story missions. Since there was no Gaiscoch or saighdear (think i spelled them right) clans i joined a new one..but if we have one ill quit it and join up with u guys. I have 420+ ego atm..running coop and side missions.

I play Defiance as well (though I get bad about checking the forums so only just now saw this). My Steam name is Stormsworder. The account name I show up as is Stormsworder, and my character is Danielle Roivas. I only play when I'm home from college. Which is a sporadic schedule often interrupted by Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate.

Managed to find Barbossa on-line and send a friend request. I am currently playing By'Tor as my main, others are on hold for on reason or another. I have to admit my play time is going to be very spotty for the next few week/years. I have returned to OTR driving and will mostly only be able to play on Thursday nights through Saturday afternoons. Typically with only a few hours (4-6ish) available for gaming. I will continue to log into RC for voice contact, as the Defiance in-game voice appears to be beyond my limited intellect. Snazz and Miishra will be my alts and I will do everything I can possibly do to maintain control of those names. I am finding that I truly like the game and love the show. I will however state that I wish to play an MMO(RPG, G, FPS) for the social and multi-player aspects. If Trion fails to add/fix the current social UI functions I doubt I will stay with Defiance.

Spelling correction on my toon name: it's Gartok (not Gartoc). :)
