First Person Shooters have never been a staple of my gaming and so I do not mention this lightly but...wow, Bioshock Ininite is wonderful. The story (so far, I am only a few hours in) is intriguing, the setting is like nothing I have ever seen, the whole feel of it feels a lot like a Fallout tale based at the turn of the 20th century rather than post second World War. The combat is...well so far combat is basically FPS combat, not all that exciting for me but everything make this something that has stolen my soul for the forseeable future.

Anyway, just thought I would post this up. Normally I am a strategy/rpg game person but the world of Bioshock:Infinite makes it one of the best games I have played in a while. I am now thinking of getting Bioshock to play when I finish this.

Thanks for posting...I'm not into FPS games but...looking at trailers this game has caught my attention. Trying to decide whether or not to take the plunge.

Honestly, I would recommend it on atmosphere alone right now, but then you have to ask yourself if that is worth the expense and time. The combat, may or may not be good by FPS standards, I have no idea. Right now the story is great but a lot of that is due to the setting and the vast amount that is unknown-everything is unknown to you and I am getting Planescape: Torment flashbacks playing it in that regard. There is a sort of magic system that is pretty cool, I think there are 8 abilities that you can use as long as you have the "mana" for them and discover them. The lore of the world and the world setting...do not blow through it, I spend way more time exploring than I do in combat. In fact I think if the game had puzzles or some sort of non combat mechanic in place of the combat it would have the exact same feel, at least so far as I have seen. Actually I do kinda wish it were an adventure games rather than a shooter, but the shooting is fun.

I absolutely loved the first Bioshock and Bioshock 2. I try a lot of games and there are very few that I seem to play to completion but I have finished the first 2 games and am sure I will finish Bioshock Infinite. I had pre-ordered it and have been playing it the past couple days and it is a blast!! I think they did the series justice and it is wonderful.

I cannot more highly recommend this game for both people who like FPS shooters and people who have never touched them. The Bioshock series has always been one of using a great setting and an awesome story to advance things, and Infinite is no different. The levels are gorgeous, the interaction between your character and your companion Elizabeth is really endearing, and the setting behind it is really unique. Bioshock also does some wonderful nods to popular culture throughout which are awesome. (Watch this for a non-spoiler one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_NPUTYflLaI) If you've never played a FPS before, I'd still pick it up anyway. Just set it to easy and enjoy the story line. I've probably put about 8-10 hours into it so far and it's been a wonderfully engaging story, characters and setting. Also, if anyone knows why all the text after my link turns yellow and slightly-clicky, I'd like to figure that one out. Thanks!

Played a.. demo or beta demo or something, for this a while back, like a long while back. It was a blast, but it took so long for them to push the game out, that I'd forgotten all about it until I saw the commercial the other day. I have to say that the demo blew me off the hook, I was disappointed there wasn't more, it was that good... and I am not a gamer that usually likes that type of game.

As I indicated above I'm really not into FPS games...however the lure of finding out what this Bioshock Infinite game was all about got the best of me...and I'm sooooo glad I bought the game. It blows away just about anything else I've ever played. Definitely not a game for young kids but definitely one older teens and adults should check out. Not only is the scenery in the game fantastic...but the level of detail used is amazing. I've never before played a game that covered very sensitive topics such as race, religion, American History, and quantum physics all packaged in a FPS!!!!! a fun approachable FPS at that.

I had to choose between this and tombraider so went for TR first. The Sezzler review of Bioshock on youtube was fantastic, which makes me want to get it next. Tomraider is great too, and I usually do not like that type of game.
