Ohh ohh! I know what it is! I know what it is!!!

Lets just say for now, it allows you to play games outside what we consider our main branches with other gaiscioch members, on an unofficial level, to preserve our families integrity in unsupported games. Thus being able to play with friends in stand alone Saighdear guilds/teams/clans. The saighdears however will not have the same structure or leadership of our family. Each will be run by the person who opened the saighdear. They will not be claimable for participation. These are strictly for fun and each will have their own free standing organization, separate of the gaiscioch family. We merely will be linking to them to allow gaiscioch members to get involved with things other gaiscioch members are doing. That, in a nutshell, is what we're planning to integrate.

Oh, whew. I thought it was for the rank, I was about to get bummed, since I'm only ~2 weeks away from Saighdear rank. lol So that aside, interesting idea, I look forward to seeing more details.

To run a Saighdear program you'll need to be a certain rank ;). But we Elders haven't decided which that will be. We want to make sure that anyone wanting to run a Saighdear is of the same ettequite plane as the family so that people don't have too much culture shock when they join these ventures. Pretty much if we push people that way we want to know they can expect the same way of life and friendliness that they have grown to love in our family.

Fair enough. How would this affect Tuatha guilds? Say, for instance, that I wanted to involve Waelwulfas in some shape or form?

Tuatha would remain in the primary branches only. Each saighdear is stand alone and will make its own ranking structure and alliances independant of gaiscioch.

This gives people the option to join a guild run by Gaiscioch members in another game where Gaiscioch does not currently play. The name won't be Gaiscioch, but they are expected to keep the culture and values the same if listed as a Saighdear here. I know there are posts about at least one MMO that someone has started advertising and I know others play in Planetside and other games. I know we even have some Pen and Paper games going which can be done over the internet with some cool websites. I missed this kind of gaming and I'm in both campaigns. These are way smaller groups due to the nature of the game and not like an MMO, so probably won't have the same issues as an MMO for organizing and maintaining the culture. I know it is meant for alternative ways for this family to do things together because we all have games we love to do besides the current ones run as Gaiscioch.

I'm not sure what to think about it, its not what I was hoping it might be. I'll wait to see Fog's official write-up before I cram foot in mouth.

Yeah, his write up will make it a lot clearer, but that is my basic understanding of it. It definitely is family organizing something outside of the the current games, Rift and GW2, but wanting it to be a place where family can expect the same culture. It is entirely separate of the current Gaiscioch games and the Tuatha program in those games. Only connection is that it is members of this site/family who want to run something in other games for family to enjoy with the same rules on culture. We actually have members that don't play either Rift or GW2 at the moment but are doing other things while keeping some contact here.

I like the idea, I'm just scrunchy-faced puzzled about what he's said so far. I've tried similar ideas in the past, but failed miserably. Obviously, Fog is a lot better at this game community building thing than I am... /alittlejelly lol That's why I'm here, to learn from the Sensei of Social Gaming. ;)

Sek, think of the saighdears like beacons. Spreading ourselves too thin trying to create a presence in every game dillutes our effectiveness. Saighdears a llow people to find other gaiscioch to play with that we dont officially support. Thus allowing us to focus on our official games while allowing the community to explore whatever passion they share. In the end people will play with the family when were in a game they like to play. But if it doesnt suit them ee want to keep them involved with eachother some way.

Ah, ok. The idea is starting to sink in now. I was thinking in a different direction, more like it being a "guild referral program", but with guilds that were indirectly controlled by the Elder Council, but had none of the Family perks. "Spread too thin". That was my biggest problem, well one of them. The other was trying to maintain an OCD-ish death-grip of control on everything. I am over-protective of my Waelwulfas property: it took me 7 years to get control of my stolen domain back, which would make my above misunderstanding... well, a bit more understandable. lol

This is a great idea! I muddle around in other games and not being in Gaiscioch just doesnt feel right, lol. It will be nice to have other family members to hang with.

Yup, for games going forward its a fantastic idea. For games already in progress... well, its proving a bit problematic in finding family members on the same servers, as several threads on existing games are proving. heh

Having never been a GW2 conformist, and still being active in the previous chapter, Rift, the above statement, Fog, raises my eyebrows.

Vaygrent see the saighdear section of the site. Rift is a converted branch not a full saighear. Also read the Ceannard notes which outline rifts transition completely.

I had read the Ceannard notes, and the other section on the site, but this was up after those two items, so it raised a flag for me. Thanks for clearing it up!

Sounds good. I enjoy a saighdear right now with Nash's table top campaign. Its clean, fun, and contains many of the qualities I like about your brand Fog. This website was instrumental in getting like minded people together to play these table top games. We also use Raidcall, another tool born of your leadership and brand. I realize now how much this sounds like brown nosing, but whatever. I am grateful. Thank you.
