WvW Fight Group Interest Check

So I'm starting this thread to get an idea of how many people would be interested in forming a dedicated fight group. The goal of the group would be to have a core of about 10-20 players that are each wiling to fill a specific role with the group that would allow it to excel in field fights and non siege fighting. That is not to say the group would avoid siege warfare, but the focus of the group would be excelling in fights without the use of siege; any siege use would simply be icing on the cake. Another main priority of the group would be objective defense.

To give you an idea of the type of group I'd like to run i'll give you this public build as an example. I won't get into any details now, but it's a good example if you are unfamiliar to the concept of a fight group.

I stopped running WvW because when SoR server pop dwindled and the PPT meta turned into PvDoor and objective trading. It provided no challenge and thus led to very little fun. I think the most fun you can have in this game is getting steamrolled by a fight group 5 times and learning from your mistakes each time then eventually learning to hold you own against them. 

So if this sounds like something that may interest you please reply below so I can get a count.

Also please don't think the group I'm trying to form will be like some of the other elitist groups you may have encountered in the past or even on the battlefield today. My leadership style is the farthest thing from that and I stand by GSCH's core of play how you want, when you want, as long as you want. I just want to foster the foundation of a play style that you may just come to love in WvW.

I'm interested. I have been playing a Frontline Warrior designed around lots of hammer immoblizes that seems to be working decently. I'm still trying to find the right balance of offense and defensive stats but its getting there.

I have a feeling this will not work out for me time wise. It sounds like a lot of fun and I like hearing you around for other events. Rather missed ya for awhile and I was so tempted to holler Omaha at you.  ROFL Yes, I will never forget that, ever! 

If I can show up at all it would have to be as that random tag along who can even be the red shirt!  ;)  I think I'd be getting on at least 30 minutes, if not more, into the event if you keep it at 4:30 pst.

I'd like to see this turn out to be a fun event for all who do manage to join it and work at the level you want. I have yet to figure out ascended gear since my return to the game though my cloth maker is at 500 (don't ask me how as I don't remember pulling that off before I left for ESO).

I am possibly interested. I'm currently on Dragonbrand, though. Does anyone know if DB and SoR are paired for a set length of time?

to my knowledge the server pairings are being "re-evaluated" on the 24th. Whether or not we stay with DB or get matched with another server depends on that evaluation. That is really why I wanted to start this group. Ever since I returned I have been running with a few of the fight groups on DB and having a blast. To my knowledge there is not a guild on SoR running a fight group, so no matter what server we are paired with I wanted us to be able to continue having the fun we have been experiencing with DB.

So based on the meeting I missed any info on event times, group comp (and who we have currently towards that comp), and anything else interesting that came up at the meeting that is worth sharing?

I have not yet written down each classes rotation yet. As for builds I have updated the event on Saturday with a link to all the builds we will be running. I'll also post them here.

So I'm building a Boonshare mesmer because I heard they were lacking and I noticed that the gear in the build you linked seems to be a cheap but easily surpass-able set of gear.

The above gear, though more expensive, beats the gear in your post across the board with the exception of slightly less (~40) power in sword/shield but has a rather large 6% extra crit chance to have a higher effective power and +70 toughness which is more important than power at sword/shield range anyway.

One thing I also notice is that the solo boon duration is 59% which is a slightly odd number. If your group has a Herald in it they should provide nearly 100% uptime buff for +50% boon duration meaning 9% + 15%[with average 5 boons](3% per boon on you from Chaotic Persistence the Grandmaster Minor trait in Chaos) boon duration is wasted. If you don't have a Herald aiming for a higher number than 59% is probably the right move so that when you have at least 5(+15%) boons (an in fight average you should be able to maintain) the full 100% boon duration is reached.

Notice its a major loss in power and toughness which is why we like Revenants.
