Prissy's Quest for Map Completion - a Family Event

Hi Everyone,

I was thinking about a PVE event to hold and thought about a family push to get every family member who wants it map completion. So I am going to start in the 1-15 areas and do all the quests, hearts, poi, skillpoints and other popup events. Complete these areas then move to the 15-25 areas and so on. Everyone who wants to work on this task I wil be forming up in the Sylvairan area on Saturday 11/24 @ 5pm server time. I know this is a big task and will take several months to complete but I think it would be a fun thing to do.

All levels welcome. I am bringing a new level 2.

Would like to come help out and have fun but my new work schedule has me working until 7pm pst on Saturdays. How late is your event going to go?

I plan to go till 9pm server time.

From personal experience a zone clear can take up to 4 hours. Might be less with a mass of people (might be more due to how hard it is to get in a shot off on the mobs!) I adore this idea (since I have finished it and was so impressed and know I have missed some stuff, I WILL be doing it again!) and commend Prissy on wishing to lead the Pack on such an epic task!! I will Honor the Raven and be there to support with my knowledge on the days/times that I can, so see you there! And remember, every POI and Waypoint is just one step closer but each step with Family on the way there is that much more memorable. :) *edit* calling all roleplayers out there! There is a new girl in town, *wink*

Sounds like fun. Think i'll start a new character just for this.

I have a level 70, 64, 45, and 28 and haven't done a map completion or even close on any of them - so I would love to do this. I'll come along along as often as I can and might start a new character to do it. BUT... Saturdays is one of my toughest days because of (real life) family events so I won't be able to make all of them. I find once I learn a area I can remember how to do it on my others - so this will help a lot. Thanks Prissy.

I'm interested but as I mentioned last night my schedule can be awkward so I probably won't make every week. If I could make a suggestion/request it would be that you post the specific zones you are planning on hitting beforehand, and then follow up afterwards if you did more or less then I can try to catch up on zones I miss due to schedule. Wow, Prissy, this is weird. I was having this very same thought last night, but it was more of an "alt leveling + map completion" event. I was having issues trying to figure out what frequency to hold it, there's a balance of "too fast & excluding folks", versus "too slow to be worth it". Another problem that I'm trying to work out, is that large groups have difficulties getting kill credits, because ArenaNet nerfed a "large group exploit" that players were using to farm loot, a while back. That's why some folks aren't getting credit during Fog's large zone runs. (was puzzling me until I did some research about it)

A football party will prevent me from attending this week, but I look forward to joining you in future events as I still have a low level toon.

Not to worry yesterday's run will be repeated on Wed. for those who missed it I believe. :)

It was great fun and a learning experience. I knew very little of this zone except for the skill points and doing it on a brand new character was humbling - but seeing the Giant Jungle Worm spawn was an added bonus. Very nice job Prissy! I won't make next week because of family event (irl) that will take place starting Wed and running through until Sunday but I know the Human and Norn 1-15 areas and I believe you said you'd be doing human area next. It was a lot of fun and stayed fairly organized even without a commander icon to flock to. Okay, some of us got in the wrong spot or wound up ahead (ha, I am guilty of this, but they caught up to me!). Even so, it went pretty good and there was tons of patience going around. After all, we are family and were making sure everyone made it through things. I know one of the members of the party I was in disconnected at least two times during the event. I also can't believe I stayed up at least two hours later than I normally do and still got 7 hours of sleep. ::chuckles:: Definitely a fun time with the family.
