Although the events are kind of buggy / laggy, I heard that the new dungeon is amazingly fun, I imagine its also tailored for dungeon noobies in the beginnig stages as well, kind of like the Mad King dungeon so that more people can go and check it out.
I also hear rumours of many troll mesmers placing portals under the NPCs so that when you try to talk to it you get ported somewhere else random, but with a CD increase from 60s to 90s the troll efficiency has gone done drastically for mesmers after the patch.
Must level a ... mesmer...
