I happened to be looking at gw2db's list of the datamined ascended items and when I came across this I had to laugh. Most people who have owned an xbox360 will probably understand it, but for those who don't I will explain it.
When an xbox 360 is on you can look at the front of the console and a green ring would tell you that the system is on and running. If ever there is a hardware issue that cause the xbox to stop working that is not a complete power failure will result in this ring being rd instead of green telling you the xbox requires repair. Well when the xbox 360 was first released it had an issue with the way the gfx card was attached to the motherboard and a cooling issue(I believe thats what it was) so turning on your xbox to find this red ring was a fairly common occurance. When the internet began buzzing with this issue and when people realized the warranty solution was to send your xbox to microsoft and be without it for a month, the condition quickly took on the matching monicker to the similar windows condition known as the BSOD or blue screen of death. And thus the Red Ring of Death aka RRoD was born.
As someone who is on his 3rd xbox 360 and have sene this a handful of times I love this reference and the associated item image.
