I tried to log in just now and discovered I have been banned for assisting in Real World money trading. I not done any of that so I filed a support ticket.
Just a heads up though, I received a spam mail in game yesterday that had 1c attached to it. I can't remember if I took that copper or not, I'm so trained to hit "Take All" from the Renown hearts. I'm thinking that's probably why I got banned.
So WARNING: do not take any money from mails that you do not recognize.
That sucks! Hope it doesn't take too long to get sorted.
Hmm, would suck if that was the reason why, considering Anet said in their forums before that it was ok to take the copper so you could delete it. Good luck getting it fixed up, hopefully they'll get it situated quickly.
Oh, I didn't realize they had said that. Well I guess I'll find out what it is soon. In the meantime I'll play some Rift.
Update on this: It seems I got banned from my mails fulfilling Gaiscioch Marketplace orders. I used the word order in the subject of the mail so it got flagged. My account is under investigation.
Wow. Whenever I get a marketplace order I always send a reply with "Marketplace Order" as the subject to let them know that I received it and so they just dont discard it as spam.. Guess I'll start to use something else. "Marketplace Shinies" sounds good!
Interesting, I always use a similar subject as yours... Shinies sounds like a good alternative.
I've been using Marketplace Order or Website Order or something similar. But a few days ago I crafted and sent my first high level armor instead of just materials, so maybe that was it. I'll keep you updated in here.
I've sent several high end items using the text of "Your Marketplace Order" for the subject line. Good luck.
I just checked my account, I have not logged in for a few days, and I have filled several market place orders with the subject line _item name_ order and there was no issue. I would be curious to see if others have gotten tagged with this. Were you crafting high level items or sending components?
I've been sending components but last week I sent a couple of high level crafted items. I'm still waiting on an investigation response.
I to usually reply with marketplace order in the subject line. Please keep us posted of the outcome.
I just had my access restored. Took 5 days in total. They didn't really provide any information about why I got banned so I filed a follow up question.
Thats my only qualm with anet... they don't really respond to any of their reactions. They kinda just do it and that's it. I don't mind a reasonable answer, or even an answer that's absurd like "because you had purple armor". I'd just like some follow up lol :)
Exactly. I have no idea if there's any behavior I should change so it doesn't happen again. That's the worst part.
Maybe sending it by simply putting Gaiscioch will solve issues in the future. However I do like the "shinies" alternative...hahaha. I know if I got mail with our family name I would understand what it was from. Sorry you had issues with this for this game is supposed to be fun. They do however have to keep the spammers out and I for one am tired of getting mail about purchasing game money with real money. Hope you have no further issues and thank you for letting us all know so it does not happen to any of our family for simply helping each other out. ;-)
