Diplomat killed was in guild Goon Squad

Sean Smith (aka. Vile Rat) one of the diplomats killed today, was in Goonswarm (a division of Goon Squad) in Eve Online:

Several gamers know them from fighting against or alongside them over the years in various MMO's.

Sean Smith left behind a wife and 2 children.

This is so sad. The hubby and I play EvE on and off. We did not know Vile Rat personally but we have been in Corporations that were allied with the Goons. The Mittani wrote a very touching post.

Yep, was sad when I found out this morning and let Desidaria know. I've been in TEST/TNT/SMA/LAWN so we ran in the same circles. First fleet battle I got in on (and I'm not much of a PVP'r) was down in Cloud Ring, shooting Evoke with him and bunch of other folks.

I remember some good fights vs goons, him included, in EVE. I only talked to him a few times, but this still hit hard.
