O.O wow! Looks epic. Orr maybe?
Fog...I've never met you and have only seen your picture online, but that guy who walks on the coals looks like you.
shhh don't tell my secret :P. He has less grey hair :) Must not have gotten the collectors edition epic ex-wife expansion pack yet.
Wait wut? O.o - That has got to be one of the most bizarre marketing videos I have seen this year.
I don't know the dragon but I just want to give a shout out for the armor the norn female is wearing at the end... that's the Tier 3 set I'll be wearing on Lakshmi someday! Fashion > all ;)
That trailer is pretty bad. Except for the ending dragonny bit. It doesn't seem to fit their audience.
I feel like I was just recruited into joining the resistance against a government.
I'm fairly certain that dragon is Zhaitan. Very strange commerical.
This trailer unfortunately makes me laugh more than get pumped for the game. Mostly because it feels like it would be better suited for promoting The Secret World than GW2. Still, seeing Zhaitan (and yes, it is Zhaitan,) is pretty cool, and I love their in game cinematic camera angles, so points for effort I suppose.

Vampire and Zyg are correct, that is Zhaitan, the very big, angry Elder Dragon that's responsible for every single Risen you see. He's pretty much made up of other dragons, and is one of the most strange dragons I have ever seen. Trailer was a bit strange except the end, but it was well done.
Yeah, the start does feel like secret wars. I'm tryin to understand it. The frozen guy who's cracking, seems to be the narrator, right? The nimble thiefy human girl, I liked that part. Has the defiant insurrection feel. Then the (sylvari?) guy walking on coals. puzzled. Norn chick swimming in flimsy outfit past a sunken living room - cuz Tyria got tsunami'ed by the dragon. Each scene has red - the stuff behind the cracks of frozen guy, the red paint, the coals, and the Norn's red nighty and tattoos. In all except the coals, the red is the rising out, the heroic essence of defiance. Is the frozen guy the charr or the asura? I think it's compelling imagery. What I loved about some of the promos for Lineage 2 (which was a generation ago, but the Lineage games have well outstripped WoW for market penetration, but not in NA/Europe) is they made promos using the game itself, in-game footage instead of cgi. Works for GW2, too cuz it looks great.
This feels like a commercial that belongs to a different era. Where you had to actually explain what MMOs, or even video games, were. Look, people just like you, engaging in a fantasy world after inexplicably doing strange things in a poorly-lit urban setting! Other video game commercials are just like movie commercials. They show you the game, make a pitch and tell you when it's coming out or where to buy it. The only thing I can possibly think that this has going for it is that it'll catch someone's eye while they're zipping past the commercials on their DVR, but that's being generous.
Now this, this is a trailer.

trailer seems more like a propaganda
Yep the dragon is Zaitan. You will get a much closer look at him when you finish up your personal story. TBH I really think the should have left that part out, as I know when I faced him at the end, he was pretty scary when he comes flying in and you actually see him up close. Its nice to have surprises with games, rather than looking everything up on youtube or a website to see how to fight something. That being said, I have been known to look up jumping puzzles on youtube before I throw my monitor across the room lol. The trailer though.. I get the message they are trying to send. But its a pretty odd trailer, like something art and film majors threw together without input from anyone grounded in reality. Trion's "You aren't in Azaroth anymore" was a much better way of conveying the same message.
What a strange world this trailer starts in. I'm glad I dont live there. It looks lifeless.
i enjoyed that railer don't know why but loved it. Specially the transition from real to game world. Her comign out of the water was great.
The more subtle transition is that all the real world people have an inner GW2 character inside them. The trick appears to be to the letting out of said critter.
Terrible trailer is what really comes to mind right now. That is the second time on YouTube I've ever hit the dislike button.
