I have seen very positive reviews abotut Killer Guide's in the past but have no experience using them. I see they publish a pdf bundle including an Unofficial Strategy Guide, Gold Guide, and PvP. Would appreciate family members weighing in on their experience with these guides - specifically the GW2 set. Also, do they update them with game play changes (possible considering they are pdf's).

Personally I don't feel purchasing a guide for any game is really needed. Each game has a great slew of resources that are free and on the web. For the Official Wiki guide for GW2 I highly recommend: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Main_Page The information great, free, and updated frequently. Also as Gaiscioch goes through the game the website will have its own guides. Many, I'm sure are already being written and some have been posted. I wouldn't recommend paying the high price they are asking for ebooks and it's highly doubtful that they will update the information. Part of GW2 is also the exploration and enjoying the game. If you have specific questions about something post here, I'm sure that there are many people that will have answers or suggestions. You probably aren't the only one wanting this information. Kittara
This is my personal opinion as well, but i do not trust killer guides, I feel that there is more than enough information out there if you look for it.
I bought their "lifetime" subscription a few years ago that allows you to get all new guides as they are released for free. I think five years ago it was a good thing, but now the quality of the guides has been reduced to generic info and you can get much better info off the net.

I only ever bought an MMO book guide for DAOC back in the days. 19 something bucks from BestBuy I believe was the price. Needless to say it's content gets outdated later on, and I never made it to level cap in that game anyway. If you want to feel pampered playing the game, go for it, it is a fun feel. It might be updated frequently so could be more or less up-to-date. For GW2 personally I read as little guide as possible, figuring things out slowly is one kind of great fun.
I generally like to collect strategy guides for collectors editions of games. They look nice on my bookshelf. But in this game, I think exploring beats out needing a guide. If someone did buy one tho. It'd be interesting to see what info it has that we can't already get on the internet.
