Hi guys, I was just wondering if you would tell me if your characters only have one spec In Gw2 Just asking because I dont know :D.

Single spec as in One profession? Like in GW1 you could be a Ranger/ Monk for instance. In GW2 it is not like that. Your just a Ranger. However there multiple ways to build the Ranger. Another different aspect is that the characters spells and attacks change when you epuip a different type of weapon or weapons. Hope this helped.
No. You can change your skillbar, weapons and gear when you're not in combat, and traits can be changed (for a price in coin, and by using a consumable). Crafting professions can be changed as well. However, you can't change things like race or base class/profession.
I mean say if I have a warrior With mace/shield Than I cant swap specs like in rift for example Like different traits I mean.
You can partially change your spec (skills, 10, 20 and 30 point trait perks). You cannot change your trait point investments, though, without paying a small respec fee.
GW2 is surprisingly flexible. There is lots of swapping available on the fly. Each character has only 10 abilities they can use at any time (Rift for example tends to have 30-50 abilities filling up your taskbar). Weapons - Your first 5 abilities are determined by your chosen weapon. A 2-handed weapon (Greatsword/Longbow) will fill up all 5 abilities. 1-handed weapons will give you your first 3 abilities on the main hand, and the final 2 abilities in the offhand. Most classes can have 2 sets of weapons equipped at any given time, and can switch between these 2 sets in the midst of combat. Exceptions include the Elementalist (who swaps his weapons abilities rather than the weapon itself) and the Engineer (who can use utility slots as storage for unique weapon swaps called Kits). When out of combat you can swap and change which 2 weapon sets are equipped freely (assuming you have alternative weapons in your bag), although some Professions will have a larger range of possible weapons than others. Skills - Your last 5 abilities are called Utilities and are purchased using Skill Points. The first ability is always your healing ability (most classes get a choice between 3 possible healing abilities). The next 3 abilities can be freely chosen from a very large selection of choices (most will be unique to your chosen Profession, a few will be unique to the Race you chose). The last ability is reserved for your Elite Skill, of which there will be 7 (I think) you can choose between once unlocked (3 unique to your Profession, 4 unique to your Race). All these abilities can be freely swapped and changed at your whim whenever you are out of combat. Traits - Traits are like Planar Attunement in Rift. I think you unlock 70 Trait Points as you level to 80. These points can be distributed between 5 Trait Lines however you wish, each with a maximum limit of 30 points (allowing you to potentially max out 2 Trait lines with 10 points over for a 3rd line). Each Trait line adds to 2 of your basic stats with each point you put in. As you reach the 5, 15 and 25 point mark, each trait line will give you a fixed additional passive ability. As you reach the 10, 20 and 30 point mark of each Trait Line, more passive abilities open up, but unlike the previous abilities mentioned, these ones are not fixed and can be chosen freely from a list, and even swapped around when out of combat. For the most part you can effectively swap specs on the fly rather freely, allowing you to retreat into a Keep if a combat isn't going well and come back out as a very different opponent by swapping out Weapons, Utilities and perhaps even a few trait bonuses as soon as you are out of combat). Pretty much the only thing locked down is where you spend your trait points, and even then, these can be reset by visiting a trainer and paying a fee.
Very soon, you'll have all the weapon skills your character will ever have. In beta, none of my characters made it past lvl 10 without filling them all out. So a warrior will have mace/shield as one weapon combo, press the twiddle key (`/~), and switch to whatever weapons you have in the other weapon slot (say "rifle"). You can do this in combat, but you have to be out combat to change which weapons you're selecting between. Every switch of weapon brings a whole new set of weapon skills (on the 1-5 keys). You get skill points, one per level and from pve "challenges." You select utility skills with skill points, and can switch which of them are active anytime out of combat. They're mapped on to the 6-10 keys. It takes level 7 to unlock weapon-switching. You have to buy your skills in order to unlock the next echelon of skills. You get trait points which are a bit more permanent but can be changed. See http://www.gw2builds.org/ for a calculator. I'm not sure if it's up-to-date, but will give an idea. The things you select with traits will change how your character plays, but no where near to the extent that different builds in Rift do.
I think i know what he is talking about (correct me if I'm wrong), but I believe what he is talking about is do you have the ability to switch roles(or how your trait points are allocated) without resetting your stats. For example, if you were a necromancer and you wanted to go with a build that was geared towards pets and all the trait points that go with it for regular pve, and a build meant for conditions when you wanted to WvWvW.
Guru got it haha :D
so you cant do that ?
You can if you don't change your traits. If you need to change your traits, you'll have to pay for the change (in-gold coin, not real money).
The utily skill bar makes it very easy to swap them out too. There's a drop down icon you click on and then you can switch them freely as well. I use this all the time. I'll equip my warhorn to run across the map in swiftness with my 10 percent speed boost trait. When I get to my objective I just switch back to my bow before combat and pick my combat utility skill. It's very simple to switch, you just have to get out of combat.
