One Big Fat Question

Hello again!  I joined you guys late in Rift and I apologize that the game never grew on me  so I didnt play a whole lot but I did participate in all the events I could when I was around, even before I was part of the Gaiscioch family.

   I have to admit you guys have a great community going and I'd like to rejoin the guild with my character on GW2 which I suspect will be extremely active with WvWvW pvp (I'm old school DAoC).

  Anyways, I know you guys have procedures and protocols for doing things which I'm unfamiliar with because like I said, I didn't play much Rift beyond level 50.

  So here's my question, is joining the guild on Sanctum of Rall just a simple matter of whispering Fog when I catch him in game?  My name will be different than on this forum (Stormn Dreadnaut my wise-cracking celt champion from DAoC).  I just don't wanna get on his nerves by not following procedure.  hehe

I'm truly looking forward to fighting alongside you guys and thanks in advance for any answers.

Hi Tztzimime! All you should need to do is whisper fog or another one of the elders and have them invite you. I hope that there will be a post sometime pre-launch with names to whisper, just for the newer players and to get everyone together quickly. I look forward to playing GW2 with you :). PS: I'm not 100% sure of anything I said, but as far as I know that's all you have to do. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm not certain about invite privileges yet, but a couple of sure-fire solutions should be... 1) Join our vent channel and just ask for an invite. 2) If you see someone in-game with our Guild Tag ("GcH" I think we will be using initially) send a whisper asking for an invite. Either invites will be open and the player will be able to invite directly, or they will at least have access to our in-game guild chat channel and can get the attention of someone who does have invite privileges. We're not sticklers for procedure or formalities around here. If you want in, you're welcome. If you want out, that's fine too. Just let any of us know, and we'll all try our best to accommodate if we can. With a starting limit of 100 in a guild though, there may be some initial patience required, but we will be doing our best to get that size limit upgraded as soon as we can.

I will say, generally one can get into the guild as long as they have one of the family to vouch for them. But the main factor later on is how one behaves in the guild.

I would imagine this will be handled like it was for the beta weekend guild invites. All I had to do was provide my character name in vent and I got invited. Was very easy.

My experience during BWEs, if you can whisper someone who's already in guild that works great, or else get yourself in vent. Talking in public channels (such as "/map Hey anyone from Gaicioch") wasn't effective.

I always figured the Gaiscioch vent would be too full to get into. Because of so many members. hehe

Was a great question! Mostly because I was thinking the same thing and just hadn't asked yet. I assumed getting on the vent the night of the 25th I would puzzle it all out.
