Hi, hello, my name is Mel and I've never done any fractals or dungeons or raids. Part of that reason is because I never had a guild when playing Guild Wars many years ago.  Second is because my time zone is EST. So for example, if it is 3:00 PM PST for you, it's 6 PM EST for me. EST is 3 hours ahead of PST which makes me either in bed, just going to bed, or just waking up or at work for a lot of events. 

So I was wondering if perhaps there's any interest in a SUPER casual newbie fractal run once every 2 weeks at say, Friday night, 7PM PST/10PM EST? I have to reiterate I have no idea what I am doing at any given time, but like a labrador retriever, I am very enthusiastic about trying and learning! 

So if that interests anyone, could you let me know here or in discord? We can flail at Fractals together!

I can do Fridays at 10PM EST.  I think I have a terrible healer lying around somewhere that has a bit of agony resistance.

Also thanks for reminding me! I have so many questions: do you need agony protection at first tier? Do I need different gear than my PVE? Is it OK I don't have any ascended or legendary gear? Is there a good place to read up on what to expect in fractals? Ahh! 

Fog's database had decided we live in the 1960's.

Agony kicks in at level 20, and you can pretty much ignore it for all of tier 1.  PVE gear is fine for tier 1.  You'll want to pick up some ascended accessories for tier 2 so you can slot some agony resistance on it.  Season 3 and season 4 zones are pretty easy to scrounge those up in, or you can buy them with laurels or craft them or whatever.

Here's a good website:  https://discretize.eu/guides/new-player-guide/  Most of the stuff there is WAY WAY overkill unless you're a nutcase who wants to run all of the challenge motes in half an hour every day.  You can pretty much brute force everything in the lower levels without worrying about team composition or skips or potions or any of that.  You only have to start paying attention at tier 3 (level 51+).

My crew is on at central times, usually between 7 and 11 your time, depending on what's going on that night. We're fractal newbie friendly, mostly we do Tier 2s, but we don't all have enough AR for all the T2s (my level is something like 44 or 48). Do you have discord? That makes explanation a lot easier! Generally the three of us all run damage builds, but I can switch to a druid build if we need a healer.
