For playing games like ESO, does it make any appreciable difference if you have 100 mbps download speed versus 50 mbps download speed? I am the only user on the account.
Thank you for your input.

Well, coming from someone who plays GW2 on a 10 mbps download speed, while my wife is watching netflix downloading HD, I don't think there's enough difference between 100 or 50. If it was me, I'd take 100, but that's because I'm a geek and I'd try to find out just how much stuff I can have going on at the same time with that kind of speed.
As far as ESO is concerned, I believe that it would also not make a difference.
Most of the games I've played online do their best to minimize the amount of data that needs to be transferred during gameplay.
What Oldgoat said. Only thing that would improve is getting the games downloaded way faster than anyone else and how many times do you download the whole game. I would say only a couple times and most times the 2nd time is only due to computer repair and more likely an upgrade. =)
I play these games on DSL. The fastest I ever DL anything is on average of 300K. So getting the game is tedious. Playing the game is just fine. Every once in awhile I have latency issues that I know are my end, but more often it winds up being something with the game, not my network.
Save the cost of the upgrade for some other fun thing. =) Unless you find some awesome way to give me half over here. HA HA! My waiting for my little ma and pa company to get fiber to the house is one of NOT holding your breath. It's only been 5 years since my parents got it over in their area from these guys, but it isn't over in my neck of the woods yet. =) They know my dad's definition of someday!
Bandwidth is only important for throughput - ie. download and upload speeds. MMOGs use very little when playing - you are only uploading and downloading small bits of data to tell the server what you are doing and the server to tell your client what everyone around you is doing. Having a huge down-pipe is great when you are downloading 20gb patch updates though!
If you are a streamer, however, upstream bandwidth is very important. Streaming your game play at 1080p requires a beefy upload pipe of at least 5Mbit. Usually telecoms throw us big download numbers then give us crap for upload speeds.
Thank you all. This was very helpful and kinda what I suspected, but it is nice to confirm.

Hey, if I can play fine with 15, 50 will be more than enough for you
