Folks, give the Seahawks some props. They did what they've done all season: Make great teams look ordinary. They've done it several times over the season to the top teams in the league, yet people still insist on believing that "Denver played badly", hinting that if Denver had played at their usual proficiency, they'd have beaten the Seahawks. Its a bit insulting to hear the dismissals of the Seahawk's win. Its also insulting to Manning and the Broncos. (link)
Speaking of: San Francisco... lol, one of their newspapers threw Seattle an underhanded insult by making the main headline story about some sugar tax or something, and placed the Seahawk's Super Bowl win story farther down the page. The bitterness between these two cities, teams, fans and media is nuts. The coaches don't like each other from the college years, but somehow it all went craycray and snowballed into a regional conflict.
That's why we have a "chip on our shoulders", not just the team, but also the 12th man, the whole Puget Sound area. All of the Puget Sound peeps that read this, know what I mean. "We" earned this Super Bowl and "we" deserved it.
I really hope that this team+fan environment continues for many more years, and spreads to our other pro sports teams. Pete and John have really managed to create a "sports community organization" out of the Seahawks and the fans. The symbiosis they've nurtured is incredible and the entire world got to see it last Sunday.
Oh and here is the Richard Sherman that we know and love here in Seattle: http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/pure-class-sherman-said-manning-asked-him-injured-160212854--nfl.html
Mad props to Manning and the Broncos, hopefully next year they'll be ready for Seattle-style football.
