New CPU thread again

Well I know there was a thread that talked about CPU's and what to get and I vaguely remember the cpu's mentioned were IBUYPOWER and CYBERPOWER but I cannot find the thread and so I am asking for some help with a new cpu.

What I want it to do:

-To play the Witcher 3, BF4 or similar graphical beasts at close to Ultra

-to still be upgradeable 5 years from now (if that is possible)

-To be able to handle  WVW or AllianceVAlliance with showing most of the people without huge slowdown. For example when I played WOW Ironforge was nigh near unplayable at peak times or in WVW in GW2 in most major battles my CPU couldnt seem to handle it and I would lag like crazy.

I am not looking to build cpu's as I dont have the time nor as I have just moved do I have friends who can help build one. I know very little about CPU's I like to use them to play games, write, Youtube and occasionally watch movies. I do know I dont need dual graphic cards.

So any help would be great.

I did look look at the two aforementioned brands and thought these two cpus were decent but I am not sure if they are overkill and if they will be able to be upgradeable without too much pain down the road. I also know that Cybermonday is coming so I probably wouldnt buy before then (or if there is a better month?). Anyway if someone could tell me if either of these tow cpus are good, overkill, not enough or have a better idea that would be great.-Neightfall

I can't help much on the prebuilt system because I would never buy one - it's sooo much cheaper to build a system yourself - but I've been building them since the 80's so I suppose I have an advantage there.

As for the CPU recommendation: I've got a FX-8350 running stock at 4.21GHz (Overclock has to wait for water cooling due to my HTPC case)  I'd heard that the newer AMD's are not worth the money right now so I've not upgraded it.  I don't know much about the Intel's so I can't make any suggestions there.

Anyway, I've not had any trouble with any of the games I play despite my older HD 7950 GPU. (WoW, Rift, Tera, GW2, etc.)  I've heard that BF4 really needs a newer generation GPU to run smoothly - Titan, 780/780Ti, R280x, R290, 290x - though I cannot confirm, nor deny, that as I haven't much interest in BF4.  Personally I'm upgrading to a 290x as soon as the Asus model is available w/o BF4.

Hope that helps a little anyway.

You can't go wrong with ibuypower or cyberpower pc - they are essentially the same company. And you'd be hard pressed to beat their prices even building it yourself. I usually build my own computers myself, but very often its cheaper or even priced to go with one of these guys, especially if you factor in the "cost" of your own labor. Look around for coupon codes before you buy though - you could save yourself by finding free shipping or a % discount.

As with GW2, BF4 likes a lot of CPU horsepower, the AMD chips even though they run at higher Ghz are not as good as the intel chips.

If i was buying or building at the moment i would get a PC built around an Intel Haswell i5 4670k CPU, fits in a socket 1150 motherboard which is the newest mainstream intel socket.

Pair that with a Nvidia 770 or AMD R9 series 280x
