National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo)

Anyone doing NaNoWriMo this year?

For those who haven't heard of it:

National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to creative writing. On November 1, participants begin working towards the goal of writing a 50,000-word novel by 11:59 p.m. on November 30. Valuing enthusiasm, determination, and a deadline, NaNoWriMo is for anyone who has ever thought fleetingly about writing a novel. Here’s a little more about how it all works.

I've participated the last few years, winning last year for the first time with 50,078 words with a disaster novel inspired by Hurricane Sandy, which had occurred a few days before.  This year I'm going to be a NaNoRebel and instead of beginning a new work I will continue my previous work and try to finish it; it's only about 45% done.

Wow, where are you in Jersey? I'm in Middletown, Monmouth County and although personally I wasn't too affected by Sandy, destruction was all around me. What area were you in when you experienced the storm?

I am participating this year. My name username is Irish Muse. Not sure how far I will get but I'm looking forward to this as writing helps keep the pain away. Kittara

@Jedgar  I was actually in Washington DC and we didn't get much in comparison to our nothern friends but it was enough... so I ended up with a disaster novel, kind of "The Day After Tomorrow" meets "Love Actually" (yes, I have a romance amidst destruction :P).

Signed up this afternoon after church after being inspired to do so via facebook by some church friends and fellow writers.  =)  I will say I am a rebel too.  I'm working on something I had going and wound up dropping at the end of February.  I've spent more time doing other things rather than writing.  So I got reacquainted with my story and then added 1418 words to it this afternoon/evening.  =)  So off to a good start.
