Gaiscioch Music Club

Well since I posted about Books, I can't (in good conscience), leave music out. We all love games, and many of us have our "grind music" for farming, so i hope to start the "Soon-To-Be-Official Gaiscioch Music Club"!

As with the book club, this is a place where we can come together to discuss music, especially what we listen to when we are in-game "farming" or "grinding". If you have a particular set that you listen to for temple runs, or map completes - post them here!  Please list cd or song name and artist. This could make it easier for someone to find any or all artists that they might want to add to their collection. 

I hope that this club can be a forum or idea tree for the club gaiscioch dj - i'm toying with the idea of using the dj in some of my longer events, and i'd love to have a place where i can go to get a sampling of artists/music from which to create a playlist or two. 

with that said, let the music discussion begin!

i'm going to be experimenting with the format layout of my posts here, to try to make identifying songs better, so please stick with me for about a month or two, this is going to be a long work-in-progress!

First, although the actual in-game music is awsome, but my game opens to "Ballad of the Misty Mountains" by Howard Shore - it just makes me itch to find out what's over the next hill......

Grinding Music - generally listened to when farming for mats/items etc. you're in the game - but not following a questline - crafting material based events.  

1) Yakko's World by the Animaniacs - say what you will but i can loose all time when "Model of a cartoon individual" is playing.

2) soundtrack to the voices in my head by celldweller - music that just inspires thoughts of an epic adventure awaiting!

3)  "Blood of the Kings" by Manowar - no vetran shall escape my barrage!

4) Reunion by Black sabbath - the full live cd with Ozzy singing lead.  great music and the sounds of cheering at every victory!

5) Indestructible by Disturbed - pure agression.

6) Asylum by Disturbed - still more pure, unbottled agression. 

7) Robotech Soundtrack by various artists - i mainly listen to the vocals, especially Lancer's "We will win", "Underground" and Minmei's "We will win"

8) Amoung the Living by Anthrax

9) Mobscene by Marilyn Manson 

10) "Bad Romance" by Halestorm 

11) Dirty Pair: Project Eden Soundtrack - flashback 80's anyone?

Map Complete/General Adventuring - quest based adventures - simialr to the map complete events

1) Wishmastour by Nightwish - live music done by a great group - when the sun goes down, the mayhem begins!

2) S&M by Metallica - heavy metal meets classical orchestra with the sounds of cheering fans as i complete each objective (and yes i have waited for the cherring to begin before finishing a heart or two.............)

3) .hack Sign Soundtrack - Key of the Twighlight by Yuki Kajiura - Need I say more?

4) Gangnam Syle by PSY - it was Anet's offical song for launch - how could i not

5) "Game On" by Felicia day and the guild - Ok I really have all 4 of the guild songs, but this is my favorite so far.

6) "Mindfreak" (Celldweller remix) by Criss Angel - although i don't play a mesmer, i'm sure this is the song they sing to themselves often.....

7) Seventh Son of a Seventh Son by Iron Maiden..... EXCELLENT!!!!

8) Qntal  by Qntal - there's just something about this group that i love.......

9) Hikari (Planet B Remix - english version) by Utada Hikaru - Kingdom Hearts fans know what i'm talking about!

10) "More" by Usher - Just a "feel good" song!

PVP or WvW - your one goal in all of this is to beat the other player! 

...not yet, but one day in the not too distant future.....

well, needless to say i have probably hundreds more that i could add but those are my most common songs when playing - Hope to see some discussion about this soon! 

Off the top of my head: Anything by Skillet, Kamelot (except the ones pre-Khan), Epica, Lacuna Coil, Newsboys, Globus/The Immediate, Evanescence, E.S. Posthumous, Birthday Massacre, Carl Orff, and Corner Stone Cues.

I usualy just queue up an Internet radio station to do the DJ work for me.  Typically one of the following depending on the mood:

Digital Gunfire

ChroniX Aggression 

ChroniX GRIT

thousand foot krutch, 12 stones, kutless, jars of clay, jonah33, metallica, los lonely boys, david crowder band, and a whole lot of just instrumental (very old, old, and new alike).  all depending on my mood and a whole lot more bands also (too many to list) :)

Hmmm mine would be mood changing and dependent upon that.

I would probabkly go with Nine Inch Nails, Tool and Marilyn Manson for energetic owning face rawr times.

Then switch to trancey chords (like Tiesto) for mindless farming. 

For chillouts it would be Chili Peppers, Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, Audioslave, Jane's Addiction, The Cure, Green Day or some such. For romantic-ness it would be 30 Seconds to Mars...you cannot beat the Jared Leto effect if you are a girl ;)

Depends on my mood, I prefer listening to most '80's Metal, Metallica, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Suicidal Tendencies and most of all Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne.

When I'm by myself grinding or roaming in WvW I listen to Headhunterz Hard With Style Podcast (Hardstyle Electronic Dance Music) or Tiesto's Club Life Podcast if it's more relaxed.

Edit:  I forgot to add Anthrax, I have every one of their albums imported into iTunes, Among the Living being their best album of course, but I also love listening to Spreading the Disease and their new album Worship Music.  Fight 'Em Till you Can't is the best adrenaline builder.

I am a major dubstep/metal/alternative rock fan.

Grinding: I run my dubstep playlist on spotify.

1. Tobuscus dubstep remix "Gimme' That" by DJ Alex S. and Tobuscus (I need the humor for the start of a long grind session.)
