I'm buyin the Mrs a laptop mainly so she can shop and such while I'm hoggin the PC to play GW but thinkin it might be nice to play GW on the laptop while lounging on the deck.

That being said do you think this laptop will handle GW2

Sounds like that laptop has better specs than mine does man and let me tell you, unless I'm in a big battle in the middle of WvW I don't have any problems at all, even running a second monitor. You should be more than fine to play GW2 on there.

Hey there. :) Well, first, I'm not so sure it'll be as comfortable as you think "lounging on the deck" with a 17" laptop. That laptop is going to be pretty big and most likely heavier (8+ pounds or so) so I'm not sure how comfortable that thing is going to be in your lap. ;) Anyways - I guess my first question would be: What's your budget for a laptop, since I'd recommend something very different than what you have listed. Or are you already very invested in getting the one that you listed? Jand

If it's an HP, buy the warranty, but only through HP. I managed to burn out the video displays twice in 2 years, along with a heat sink and system board. Our Toshiba has been much more reliable. Consult Consumer reports for the latest reliability stats on different laptops--it'll be well worth it. :) This was my experience with HP customer service. Thanks for the comments. Jand, the PC has already been purchased. As I mentioned it is for my wife to do basic web shopping etc. I was just curious if it may be able to handle GW2. If so great! If not, no biggy as I have a desktop that can easily handle any game you may wish to throw at it. Thanks again, Kevin

Well, the worst thing that could happen is that you d/l and install the game and it doesn't work, and then you uninstall it. I'd give it a whirl and see how it runs, though you might have to turn the graphics down during big fights to avoid bad lag. Oh, get a cooling mat or laptop desk so you don't burn your thighs. Those laptops can get really hot after awhile! I've gamed with several and thought I'd be toasting marshmallows after about a half hour of gaming.
