hehe I remember playing that game as a kid. I even recall liking it at the time too lol

I vaguely remember playing that game, too, and I agree the pits were horrid. I think that's the only thing I remember about it other than the 8-bit E.T.

I read recently where a programmer hacked the old ET game and made it where you didn't fall in the holes if even one little pixel was out of place with ET touching a pit. Also gave ET a little more ability to travel further before needing...something I forget. The game is only to be played after reading the user instructions, outlining the goal of the game etc... I think his hack is available online.

It was probably Reese's pieces he needed to eat periodically.

Oh my... I'm certainly way too young to have played this game. But I've heard legends about this :D How fun was this back in the day?

I don't recall playing that one, I probably was too busy playing Adventure or River Raid :)

I think sticking to those games was a good idea :)
