Seems like this year is the year of sci fi space type movies. I am looking forward to this one along with many more. Pacific Rim = Real life gundam aka giant robots type movie Star Trek sequal Riddick part 3 After Earth and this movie to name the ones off the top of my head that I am looking forward to.
Riddick :)
I was happy when vin diesel got so passionate about the story and will not let it die :) He puts lots of his time and energy into these in addition to being the main character.

I liked the book, hopefully they don't stray too far.
thanks for posting this! I've actually been actively searching for an ender's game trailer for months. There was one that came out last year, but it was unofficial and actually used some movie footage from battlestar gallactica... I thought it was the real deal because it was really well done, until a co-worker pointed out that fact! thanks again.
it has all the makings of a good movie/ actors that i think are very good :). even in the trailer i have noticed some discrepancies but its not deal breaking ones.
In anticipation of the movie, we just finished reading the book to the kids. They are excited. They of course want MORE ENDER... But aren't quite old enough for some of the key topics (infidelity and where babies come from) critical to the storyline in Speaker for the Dead... So, they are going to have to wait... heh heh... (I might have to read Ender's Shadow again, to see if it was kid-friendly or not). This is one of my favorite books, and I tend to re-read Ender's Game about every 2-3 years. Tenebrae and I even went to an Ender's Game forum at DragonCon last year - thats when we found out that a movie was in the works. Thanks for posting the link to the trailer :)
anybody else surprised they made Anderson a woman? I just assumed it was a male because of how harsh all the instructors were to the children and didn't think a woman fit that role. eh, its probably just my bias :) All the women i know are sweet and loving and even the "difficult" ones i could not see them doing this to children.
@Stoat Ender's Shadow is similar to Ender's Game in children appropriateness. @Ruwund Yes, I was surprised to see Anderson as a woman. I thought he/she/it was a male as well, but that was because most of the battle school children were male. Oh my goodness, I am so stoked for this movie. I have read almost all of the Ender books except for the Children of the Mind. I absolutely loved all of them. I literally finished re-reading Ender's Game and Shadow of the Hegemon only a couple days ago and thought I had remembered hearing something about an Ender's Game movie, but I just did not remember if it was real or a fake. I can't wait til it comes out!
I'm reading Ender's Game right now for the book club and today I noticed that they do use the pronoun "he" when referring to Anderson, so it must just be an artistic choice of the director or the like.
Yeah for Enders Game. I am suprised this movie wasn't made 5 years ago. The actors look decent and here is to hoping its an all out production. Looking forward to watching it. Any of you live around the Phoenix Area? We could go Gaiscioh it up together opening night or something.
I live in Barstow, Ca. so i am a few hours from you cliff. But we are both desert cities...lol
