Board games and Coop play

Hi all,

It's been a while and the reason is that I have recently been playing a lot of board games ie. Mage Wars, Zombicide, Unexploded Cow, Earth Reborn and I have really gotten into it so much so that most of my gaming cash and time has gone into buying and playing board games. Not just to to play with friends but hopefully snag my wife into as well.

One game I have seen recently  on Kick Starter (KS) has really grabbed my attention and if you all like coop dungeon crawls then this is the gmae for you. It is also a mini game but it has solid choices to be made and a pretty cool art scheme.

Anyway the gane is called Myth by Mercs and it is based around how we all like stories and to tell about them around a fire or tavern table. The foe is the  Darkness and it has several different monster types that it will send after you. You can choose from 5 diff classes (soldier, acoltye, Brigand, mage, trickster) with an additonal two that can be bought to be addons ot the game (skald and a tree). You can take a look at the link to see how each class plays so I wont go into that here.

There are quests that will bring you from tile to tile and I believe will bring you from Act to Act until you fight a big baddie. However if you just want to destroy evil you can just play against the darkness and not have one of your friends stuck being the bad guy. And I think for a solid dungeon crawl this has been one of best selling points. SO often a DM can either be too soft or too hard on a group with no real way to correct the pacing and pain dealt but the guys at MERC have come up with a pretty good system to do so and all without having a friend being the bad guy all the time.

One of my freinds who loves descent 2.0 gets really frsutrated as he (in the past) got stuck being the DM all the time as he knew the game the best but with this game being total co-op he wont have to do it. And like descent more than one person doesnt have to own Myth with in your gaming group so if you all pitch in the cost is pretty reasonable.

Anyway I think I havent done the best job selling the game but I hope I have Piqued your interest enought to take a look at the link and find a much more informed group to answer your questions.  http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1700755582/myth-0

Oh and if you are new to KS there is only 36 hours left before the the funding time closes and while you will be able to buy the game whne it eventually hits retailers you will not abe able to get your hands on the KS exclusives. Peace out y'll and I hope to see many of you when TESO comes out.-Nightfall

I've been buying board games for years now, I got too many. I felt the need to keep my library to 1 game per category, mostly for my wallets sake. My Dungeon Co-Op game is Super Dungeon Explore. It's on the lite-r end of the spectrum compared to Descent 2.0 but it is an enjoyable experience for all. Also there is a ton of Expansions and Extra's available with much fan support behind it. I've been in the market for a zombie game, I think Zpocalypse is the winner tho, can't afford it for a while. I'll go ahead and leave a list of all the boardgames I'd recommend. Runewars is probably our most played and favorite. There is a new cheaper edition out that inculdes the expansion. If that is too heavy for you, there's a lite-r card game version called Rune Age. If you love co-op games, Death Angel is a fantastic little survival card game. Seasons is a fairly recent euro style game. It's got some interesting dice and card play. Merchant of Venus was recently reprinted, I like to call it BADASS MONOPOLY IN SPACE. Cosmic Encounter is still a staple for parties around here, it has literally endless replayability. I live about 2 hours south of Houstom TX, if anyone is interested and nearby, I don't mind playin.
