In all honesty - Lucas killed SW's with the EP I release. I saw the movie 2 times - the day it released - bought both tickets at the same time... took the day off work... I was that much of a fan... and I don't think that I have seen it again since although I still repeatedly watch Ep IV, V, and sometimes EP VI.
I was excited to hear Disney got the rights and have hopes they can revive the story set in a Galaxy, far, far, away - that had died years, years, ago. If not, it sure can't be any worse than the last few movies by Lucas.
And... I'm sure Disney reviewed the entire game situation before the purchase and probably knew that they were cutting it from the first day of the takeover. Disney has made some mistakes over the years, but they haven't maintained the company by making many. So... again, I have high hopes but moderate expectations. I really wish they would hand the reigns of game development over to a good niche company - and get me a SW's MMO that I could love for many years the same way people have loved EVE for years. I don't want to be a Jedi - I just want to reside in that universe. The Empire and Rebels should be NPC's - let me fight other races from other planets (they are aren't all peaceful - the Ewoks want to kill everyone - and roast them) - be a smuggler, a mercenary, a Bounty Hunter (that hunts anyone/everyone) a bantha herder, or a moisture farmer. Where's the imagination?
OK - I'm done :)
