Nemo hit the coast harder. The Catskills where I am got about 8 inches. The way the low from the west came in against the low coming up the coast actually pushed the worse of it from where I am, but I know New England was supposed to get hammered.
I'm confused over their naming of this storm. It looks like a hurricane and named like a hurricane, but they don't talk about it like its a hurricane and even call it "Winter Storm Nemo".
edit: I guess this explains it, heard the term, just did not know what it was: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nor%27easter

Yeah, they started naming things besides Hurricanes this past year. Makes me snicker that they have to name them. Even so, none of these storms rate to things I saw as a kid. Our winters started getting warmer in the later 80's because you used to be able to drive you cars on the ponds most of the winter to spin them out and such. You could ice skate on them around Thanksgiving usually. NOT ANYMORE! One year I remember an older cousin chopping a hole in my great grandfather's pond in January and the ice was at least a foot thick.
I'm in Boston and as of 8:00 AM est, we have close to 2 feet and it's not over yet!

It's not Nemo (thank goodness, sorry guys) but I got snow too :( I live in the AZ White Mountains. At least I don't have to go anywhere!
I'm in Philly, and we got lucky with only a couple inches and it was pretty much melted this morning anywhere the sun was shining. My family in Rockland County NY got about a foot, and a cousin in CT got what looked like 2-3 feet in places from her pictures, though I think was partially due to snow drifting with the wind.
33" at my house.. this is why we have snowbirds! As soon as the kids are done with school I'm buying a house in the south for wintering.
LOL Oppa, I'm thinking I need to live in a warmer place, but unfortunately I can't handle too hot or too cold. I need to find something that stays steady all year and that might work even if on the hotter side. I think I need to retire to Hawaii. Oh, wait, I already am retired in a way - disabled.
@Bri: Hawai'i or West Coast for even mild temperatures.
Hey New England, Got Shovel? :P Going to have an early Spring out here in Seattle. Yup... >:)
We got even more snow! While at school today I just looked out the window and watched it pile up. Close to a foot by the time I got to go home. We are already on a two hour school start delay... heres hoping for a snow day /crosses fingers.
