Chris Taylor and Gas Powered Games (Total Annihilation, Dungeon Siege, Supreme Commander, Demigod) are working on a new action RPG/RTS hybrid game called Wildman. You start out as a prehistoric warrior travelling around beating stuff up like an ARPG until you encounter another village/town/etc. where they start sending units to attack you. So you then set up some buildings of your own to produce units to attack them back while you wade in with your Wildman (kind of like in a MOBA).
Once you defeat that village/town you can then use it as your new base of operations, plus you steal some of their technology to advance your own people and help you with your next battle.
If you've already checked them out on Kickstart you'll want to watch their new pictch video. If you haven't yet, then definitely go take a look. Seems like it'll be an interesting mechanic and a lot of fun!
