8+ player games

Hey guys. My family used to enjoy playing Diablo 2 together. It was a good game we could all get on from our random locations across the US and enjoy some time together for an hour or two once a week. We're looking to start this up again and looking at other games. It has to be able to support at least 8 people at once and minimal cost requirements would be nice. I've thought about the following so far:

-SWTOR - not bad, but the voiced story would eat into quite a bit of play time

-GW2 - probably a good option, but being able to level/play with a group of 8 people isn't feasible and endgame PvE with 8 people not really existent unless they want to do PvP

-Rift - another good option, but the subscription fee is a turn off to some

-Torchlight 2 - only 6 players max

-Path of Exile - only 6 players max

-Planetside 2 - not sure if everyone would enjoy a MMOFPS, but possible

Any thoughts/corrections/additions would be appreciated.

Terraria and Minecraft if you like building things. Minecraft also has the option to join other servers with different themes.

Realistically, there are very few games that are 8+ player capable in one group unless you formed a raid group which would seriously trivialize most content, and 8 wouldn't be enough for the actual raid content. 6 is the typical maximum except for online fpses. The ones that come to mind are diablo 2, neverwinter nights 1 and 2, DC universe online (raids are 8 people groups), titan quest (maybe was 6 without a mod?), dungeon siege 2, two worlds 1 and 2, If you're looking for a game that is coop based but not an mmo, this is where I look for my games http://www.co-optimus.com/system.php?id=4 just sort by # of players online

The Secret World doesn't have a sub fee anymore and is relatively cheap to pick up.. (and fun) Team Fortress 2 could accommodate 8 people pretty well.
