I am not much of a portable gaming guy.  I don't even play on a laptop at all.  I am purely a desktop dude.  I have not owned a console for at least 5 years.  All that being said Nvidia is a graphics power house and I was wondering what everybody in the family thought about this new entry into the gaming universe :)

So why not throw out your thoughts and opinions :)).

Edit** oh yeah here is a link to the preview i saw.

I don't really have any android or apple things. I got a 360 that I never use and a Wii that I never use. I got a 3DS that is cool but not much out for it atm. Use steam for most of my gaming. I just wish I could play 360 arcade games on PC, or android/apple store games on PC rather than having to get system locked crap. Same story for Console exclusive games, still against it, further limiting your market and hindering sales.

I always tended to move the controller around a bit while using it. Perhaps some folks play with a perfectly still controller. Think there would end up being too much screen shake rattle and roll for myself.

Not at all excited about this. Gaming companies already have a horrible case of "consoleitis"- making all their games for console systems then porting them over to the PC, instead of the other way around. The past few years PC gamers have had to deal with horrible controls, locked-in low framerates, and later releases of content than console players. Devices like this and steams new "the big picture" just encourage more of this same bad development.

This device won't spawn any PC ports, it looks like a competitor to the Nintendo DS and Sony PS Vita. Its being billed as "open source", so I wouldn't put a lot of any serious speculations on the device. However, console and hand-helds are outside of my experience range, so that's just IMO.

I doubt that this will get very far. Nvidia has some pull in the pc market for gaming but it has zero pull in the console market. All of the top titles are locked into contracts with the big 3 . Microsoft, Sony and Intendo so I highly doubt they will get anything game wise worth playing on it. Also handheld gaming systems have been fading out pretty fast since the invention of smart phones. Now there are crossbreeds coming out of tablets and smart phones able to play alot of the content on the ds and ps vita while still giving the bonuses of the mobile market. I basically think its alittle too late for Nvidia to try and enter the handheld gaming market. The only place it may sell is in japan where handleds are still popular. But even there alot of them are sticking with the psp and 3ds and nothing more.
