A lot of you have figured out that sometimes my internet is happy and sometimes it is not in the past week. ::chuckles:: Monday through Wednesday were iffy so on Wednesday I called and verfied no known issues with my ISP. I even made sure where I could see my outside wiring and various connections that nothing was wrong there. Nothing found.
Thursday I run through Balor's entire event in Sparkfly - NO issues.
Friday I was gone part of the day and it messed up my arm so I did not get on.
Yesterday I am on something like 7 hours without a connection loss. This time running with Balor's event again and then doing some other things afterward to since I donated points for crafting a couple of items for prizes to add to the two Balor did.
I go eat dinner, finish laundry, etc. I come back to do Prissy's Metrica Province run and my connection was up, it was down, it was up. I think my DSL modem tried to rally more than all the death rallies of the entire Straits of Devistation and Metriac Province events combined during it. I think I did at least 75% but it was crazy!
Anyway, I would like to think the person who directed me to the dslreport.com site. I was running tests while playing and attempting to stay connected to see what that told me. I even changed out the wiring from the DSL to the wall jack. So.... everything points at the modem!
Going to see what happens with Balor's event in Malchor's later today since I'll be around to do that, but it should prove to be awesome fun if the modem acts up like last night. HA!
Breaking down and buying a new modem from my ISP on Monday. Thankfully it is a little telco and I can drive there and get it quite easily. I've already had this one tested once this year, but that was back in June/July when I also know we had some crazy power issues going on that impacted things while I was finally able to afford an UPS and waiting for it to show up.
Side note: If I can stay connected well enough through the event today, Balor, I'm up to donating a couple more prizes to the fun. =)
