CoH Closing

Just wondered what everyone thought of CoH finally closing down.  I havn't played it in years but still have fond memories of the game.  

Always sad to see a game u have spent a lot of time in close down. 1 thing i hate about online games when i get bored and want to play an old C&C game or any single player i just find the cd/download it and remeber the good old days but not so with MMO's. 

There has been many times i wanted to go back and replay and old MMO that has finally shut down and its like an itch u can't stratch. Finally threw away my old Auto Assault cd's cause i got tired of looking at them and remebering that i can never play it again. 

I played it for a couple months a few years ago. Most of the fun for me was the character creator. Thanks for reminding me I still need to get a copy of First Decade before it's gone for good. The only game currently on my list that "died" that I wish I could play more would be Crasher. Fun vehicle arena pvp game. OH and Pokemon Crystal Version. ;-;

I played CoH for some time. I remember, I was a store manager for Gamestop when the game was announced. I was at a manager convention in Dallas TX and we had a meeting with the NCsoft dev team as the pitched the game and showed us video from the alpha. I instantly fell in love. It's been a long road since then and I have many fond memories. You are right, dwelling on the memories is like an itch you can't scratch. The worst for me is SWG...and the crafting system. Alas, may it rest in peace. I think upon these games as I would a dearly departed friend.

I feel that way about SWG, a lot of visual memories, especially of traveling across planets, ambient music and sounds, that now are just that... a memory.
