Preface: Mumble has this feature and I thought Vent had it too but I can't find it.
So, when using Mumble (the preffered voice chat program of Omne Datum Optimum, my TSW cabal) you can bind a key to "mute and deafen" yourself. That is make it so you can't talk or hear the chat from mumble. I'd like to have a way to do this for Vent so I can "mute and deafen" when I go into a cutscene in GW2 so I can hear it. Is it possible and if it is can someone explain how to do it?
I would be interested as well. Coming from mumble, its kinda like culture shock.
Should be 2 little checkboxes at the bottom of vent for mute and mute microphone.
Izzy has it right - at the bottom of the ventrilo window the box on the left will mute the sound. The check box on the right mutes your mic.
As others have said, you can just use the two check boxes. However, if you'd like a key-bind to specifically do that, you have to use the bindings feature. The following short video details how to get it setup.
TY all, yes the key-binding is what I am looking for so I can just tap the key when a cinematic starts and press it again to unmute when the cinematic is over.
I have a question too...Mumble has "overlay" so that when you are in game you can see who is in your channel and see who is talking. I think it is a great way to get to know ppl to voices. Does Vent have that?
Yes. You have to go to Setup -> Overlay Tab -> Enable Overlay Support.
