Is anyone still playing RIFT?

I was on over the weekend most of the time, and there was only about 5-8 people on at any given time on the Defiant side.

Everyone just waiting for GW2?

I personally also feel like a change, as it has just become so repetitive, and wondering what suggestions people might have for other games.

Right now I am considering DDO, LORTO, or Skyrim

Defiant side has always been smaller. I keep bringing people in but without a raid leader in place it makes it tough to retain them. The defiant side started 6 months after the guardian side and has always been smaller / less active. If you wanted to roll a guardian it would be entirely a different experience. We have 100 - 120 people on nightly. We have 3 hk raids going and several other raids. As a pure defiant only Monday night conquest and Thursday night pve are our family events that we run duo-sided. If you need to join another guild to raid please know we understand and will still treat you as family. your player satisfaction is more important than the name above your head. We have several Gaiscioch like kool who are in other guilds to raid but still call us home. Guild tags don't matter. Once family always family.

Thanks for replying Fog. I should have rolled a Guardian... The grind is just too long to re-roll and start over. I would have been willing to lead a raid progression group. As you might have seen I posted a note looking for late night (8 pm PST) raiders, but seems like not many Defiants around for that. As things stand, I feel I might be leaving RIFT soon, as I don't want to join a different Guild simply for raiding. It is such a double edged sword if the focus is on raiding only, and it becomes like another job. I enjoy the Gaiscioch family Nightfall raid activity the most in the game. BEST fun I've ever had in RIFT. I might see you in GW2. Thinking about buying it. BTW Fog, you mention Seattle a lot. I am on Vancouver Island, and coming through Seattle this week on the way to Oregon for a surfing weekend with my brother (he's coming up from San Francisco). One of these times I'd love to put a face to the voice.

There's also a post up with folks on Guardian side willing to help level your Guardian rolling. Your earlier post seemed to suggest you think it's time consuming to level and grind back into end-game, but I assure you it's not :) And with the new IA and Mentoring options, it's even faster!

Just a quick update. After doing some soul searching I decided to re-roll a Guardian - one Agulas, the rowdy rogue was born, and has now reached puberty (50). I will ask for an officer to invite him to the family tonight. Comox, the cleric of a Forgotten God, bids you fare thee well, as he journeys on to the faraway shores of Seastone, to test his mettle in the cesspool of PVP-ness there.

I log in every so often but not long enough to really play. I think I just over played it to the point it became boring. Though, I'm still here in the site here and on Vent sometimes as well. :) Took huge advantage of Steam's Summer sale and now have over 20 new games to try and and play. Hope everyone is well and I miss you all lots! Azzra AKA Phryehart

I think that with GW2 coming, Storm Legion announced and coming, and summer already being here, a lot of people have done one of two things with rift. It seems a lot of people are either taking a hiatus after playing so long, seeing what GW2 has to offer, or feeling its pointless to progress at this point. On the other hand, I bet we have people devoting all ove their free time to rift because they know they won't play much after GW2 or they wanna be as far along as they can by SL launch.
