that Rift runs worse than it ever did on my computer and I'm even on a better graphics setup.  Not a huge upgrade, but my rig runs way better than it did overall.

Since one of the last couple of patches with 1.8 and even more so with 1.9 I get so much lag and loading screens that it is annoying for me.  It's bad enough that I hate crafting.  I've waited at least 10 seconds for a crafting table to show up several times now in Meridian.

Then I've gone out into various parts of the world to get loading screens at the most inopportune times - not good in a fight I tell ya though thankfully no deaths from it.  I had two loading screens in Fortune's shore just running over to the house where the RPers were Sunday night and there was no event going on at the time.

It's just very jarring.  On top of it all, my sub runs out on August 12th and I have it in canceled state at the moment because of finances.  Not sure if things are going to change much by then or not.  At least, when hubby had his winter job money rolled over enough that I could buy GW2 on the first day it was available and it is free to play.

Currently I've been on a roll filling marketplace orders as I clear my banks out.  If I'm definitely not coming back, all items just sitting in the bank and not on the donation list will be sold and the money put in the guild bank.

So I'll be around Rift when I feel like I can handle the lagginess and the silliness of glowing blue cells representing people and mobs.

Don't mess with Mama Bear, I might hug you too tight. =D

Sorry to hear of your lag woes :( I recently used a good portion of my tax return to upgrade my machine to a really high-end gaming machine (i7 processor, very fast 8 GB RAM, HD6870 vid card, etc) and was able to set everything to max and still enjoy very smooth gameplay. However, since 1.9 rolled-out, I'm back to seeing the green bird cage looking things all over Meridian when I first arrive and even for some time afterward. Pretty surprising change for me so either a lot more people are signing in lately or something definitely changed.

I have a brand new computer with top of the line specs that is only 2 months old. When I resubbed to Rift a month ago, my FPS averaged around 70-80. Lately it is around 30-40. Something definately changed on Trion's end.

Awww Bris and you just came back a while ago! If it makes you feel any better I only get max 25 fps lol. And sometimes I'll be riding along someplace and my horse stops in mid-stride and it lasts for at least 10 seconds. This is one reason I'm forced to stay out of experts and raids... :(

I am getting to the same point with Rift. The latency issues are making the game unplayable for me. Everyone will stop moving then the game will catch up and everyone teleports 20 feet ahead, the latency spikes up in the thousands. This is mostly in Conquest, but I have been noticing it elsewhere over the last couple of days. What is weird is that I was getting high latency in ventrilo at the same time as the spikes in Rift, which made me think it's a problem on my end. Is it possible that Rift is overloading my modem? Is everyone else getting these latency spikes as well? If anyone has any suggestions I would be grateful, because the game is pretty unplayable for me right now without being really frustrating.

At one point I lived in the boondocks with DSL as my only option. Due to my physical distance from the ISP's nearest station, I had mediocre speed, but I was able to game/download etc. One day, for NO reason whatsoever, my games started acting the EXACT same way as you describe - absurdly high ping, teleporting players etc etc. If you call your ISP and tell them you are a gamer, and your Ping/latency is suddenly bad they CAN switch you to a different portion of their network and will work with you to resolve the issue. dslreports.com has a very useful tool to check your line quality, and / or, open a dos window (start>run) and trace a few websites (including the Vent address) tracert yahoo.com (replace yahoo.com with any site/web addy) You can then pinpoint where the issue is (your own router, the isp, the site etc) by looking at the MS time for each hop. If you see host unreachable, or really big numbers in the first few hops past your router (router is usually 192.168.0.1, or 1.1) you can point it out to the ISP CSR. Anyhow, after I did that to my ISP, they switched my connection (i was told, to a different part of the network, but idk honestly what they did) and everything went back to good. My machine runs buttery smooth in all areas, on ultimate settings with full AA etc etc, BUT, in sanctum, i see green birdcages, and multiple load screens as well. But it does the same on all 4 of my machines (each with different specs/vid cards/ram/cpu etc Vid Cards range from an older ATI HD3850 to a Nvidia 460Ti, and RAM quantities vary from 2GB to 8GB) Bottom line, contact your ISP, check your computer isnt doing crap in the background (gamebooster is great to have), Virus scans, uTorrent, Windows update, Adobe Update (especially if multiple ppl are connected to your router) Lastly - if you have wireless... check your router for connected devices and make sure you recognize all of them. It really isnt that hard to bust into someones wireless and leech.

Well, they would have to be sitting on my property to leech and no mysterious cars have been sitting near my house. ;) I knew it could be an issue when I was in town. I figured out one of my neighbors did not have their service password protected because mine was disconnected, but my laptop could still connect. Mine is also password protected from when I did live in town nearly 5 years ago. As for my speed out here. It's been the same for five years, but I've had them fix things. I'm on a leg of the network and near the end of it. However, the box I connect into is only 1100 feet away. The issues I had in the spring was the wires intermittently thinking I was 4300 feet instead, which has been fixed. I also had a video card die and have a slightly better one now though my system is still only a mid-level system going towards low every month. HA Ping tests show my stuff as good all the way up to where my ISP connects into the internet in a city some distance from here. So nothing is broke, it just thinks Rift is a dog to run now.
