Suggestion to the Guild Leader/s and Event Planners

Since im an european player this question been on my mind for long and last event showed me it again my question cant u make the weekend family events instead of beeing on the cruel us prime time 2 hours earlier  im talking about east coast time ofc so it would be at 6 pm not at 8 cause we over here dont like to stay up till 2 am in the morning to fight till the morning well i dont like it anymore since beeing 30 i need my sleep ^^ just asking bout the weekends well in the week i have to look out for the earliy guys of the US but on the weekend i would prefer to be as often in the family events as possbile but 2 am /8:00pm ur time is just not do able .

I know I'll be running a 10 or 11am PST (US morning, same as 1pm or 2pm EST) WvW event on Saturdays once GW2 rolls out. Ben may or may not do the 5pm PST thing still. Hopefully that'll help a lot by giving Gaiscioch players 1 or 2 weekend events to do. On the flip side, "if you lead it, they will come." If you folks are having problems making the American hosted events (which is totally understandable), start leading your own. I'd be willing to bet it would be pretty successful because we have plenty of non-North America players. Oceanic, European, etc. Just don't be discouraged by a low showing the first or second time you set it up. It happens to the best of us. I'm sure my early morning event won't become "popular" until the 3rd or 4th time because word of mouth takes time. Hopefully that gives you some choices TheMau. If you have any other good solutions or brainstormed ideas, be sure to bring them up. I personally always like to have a couple options to a problem. Plus if you know of someone European side that wants to become a mirror of me (WvW lead), let me know. Any help I can provide to encourage someone to do so or help run their stuff, I'm more than willing to do. Having a fighting force when our North American players can't be on will be crucial to Gaiscioch being a force to reckon with in WvW.

well i could lead did it in warhammer too sigh miss my wp any way if ur leading already some on 1-2pm that helps and once i feel that i can lead with my mesmer ill prolly gonna start some too just need to get a few guys more active on vent and it should work but for now lets w8 and see for the next bwe

Anyone, can run an event. Unfortunately I'm full time employed (In charge of our Tech Dept.) with 3 side jobs a child and a wife and have to run both our Rift activities, our Focus Group activities, and somewhere in there find time to work on the website. I tried early Saturday events and got very low turnout. I'm sorry but the time i have slotted is all the time I have. I can't just skip work to run earlier events. I know your dilemma well and that is why I have built this system to allow ANYONE to rise up and lead events. This isn't just the Foghladha show. The family only works when others choose to stand up and lead. Our family events are designed to attract new members which in turn gives our other leaders a pool to pull from. Saturdays are my time to be with Juliana and Sunday is all day football. For me to host our family events earlier on Saturday would be taking time away from my wife, and Saturdays and Friday nights are really the only 2 days I actually see her at all. I'm surprised she hasn't gone postal on me for using every other night of the week for family events. I can only do so much. That is why im counting on all of you to stand up and lead when i can not. I've given you the tools, showed you how to do it. It's up to each and every one of you to write the story you want to happen. Don't wait for me to do it for you. This is your family too. You can be the playmaker that brings us a new group of Aus/NZ members. Mijjah and Elth do their best but it never hurts to have more pulling in new AU/NZ folk. I simply can not.

As vamp said, Consistency builds numbers. If people know your doing something and see you doing something every weekend from x to x people will naturally flow towards your events. We originally started our Trinity Nights with 3 raid groups mostly pugs and as we moved forward we began to have 5, 6 and later 10 and 12 raid groups. People flocked to our events because they were consistent. Just keep at it and the more routine you make it the more people will show up.

Keep in mind, the biggest hole or need for a European WvW lead is during the week. If we could get a European WvW lead at a more European appropriate time even once a week (take your pick, Tuesday or Thursday tend to work well), it could really help. Also as lead you don't have to do it yourself. You can always share responsbility. If you want TheMau, you can help me lead on Saturday mornings so you can get a better feel for leading before you jump headfirst. It always makes it easier and a lot more fun to have coleads. I remember very fondly a time in tier 2 in Warhammer when Moreden, me, and Caemlys each led a raid group and just gave the opposing side a terrible headache and had a wonderful time. One of the most fun times I've ever had. EDIT: Another idea I just had, TheMau, is this. Since Ben wants Saturdays free, what I'll do to keep the peace at my own place with girlfriend is not do WvW Tuesday or Thursday night (make one of those my girlfriend night), help Ben lead once during the week, then on Saturdays lead once at 10am and once at 5pm. Initially for the 10am slot I can lead and you can co-lead and then once you get used to it, if you are interested, you can take over and lead the morning 10am PST (or w/e it is for you in European time) and I'll lead the 5pm PST one. At some point in the future, our WvW schedule could look something like this: Tues 6pm PST (Ben leads, Vamp + others backup) Tues 6pm Euro time (TheMau, others backup) <-Weekday Euro WvW Thurs 6pm PST (Ben, others backup) Saturday 10am PST (TheMau, Vamp + others backup) <-Weekend Euro WvW Saturday 5pm PST (Vamp, others backup) The Tues or Thurs time for Europeans can be added once someone wants to lead that (whatever night works better obviously for that European lead; just keep it consistent). M/W/F/Su will be 'pickup' days where any one of our leaders can lead at anytime. Also any of our leaders can take over for me, Ben, or any other "head" lead at the scheduled times if they want. The default will just be me or Ben or the European lead (possibly TheMau) for the nights listed above.

Vamp, I will likely be doing thur / sat events in gw2. Tue is going to be rift. All depends what our numbers look like.
