Hey all,

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the Logitech G13 or the Razer Nostromo? Pros or Cons TO either? I have read a decent amount of reviews to each and they each have their pros and cons. I was wondering what your experience has been with in the gaming realm? I do have a naga and I wanted a smaller keyboard to pair with it for gaming. Thanks!

I use the Logitech G13 and absolutely love it! It was basically plug & play out of the box for me. Now, I don't get overly complicated with the programming so can't really say much about how it works for intense warfront pvp or raiding, min/maxing or any of that stuff. I'm your basic questing / exploring / RP person. I was able to easily program my Rift macros, and keybindings for Rift and a variety of other games. What I bought it for was to compensate for my reduced mobility in my hands and it does this in spades. I can play far more complicated classes with reasonable proficiency that I could not play before with just a keyboard and mouse (and I'm talking basic mouse - I can't manipulate an ump-teen button mouse). Its a sturdy product and generally stays where it's suppose to on the desk. The wire is generous enough that I have my tower sitting beside my desk to the right and the G13 on the left side and enough still to tuck well away from my knees. The keyboard I have it paired with is the Logitech compact K300 http://www.logitech.com/en-ca/support/keyboards/5759 Not sure if this helps at all, but its my non-technical 2bits :)

I also have a G13 and I also love it. The things I find most useful with the G13 is that within one profile you have 3 different subprofiles so to speak (M1-M3). With MMOs before GW2 I had a dps button layout, healing button layout and a tank button layout. But now with GW2 getting rid of dedicated tanks and healers I'm going to use those other pages for chat macros and fun emotes. My second favorite thing about the G13 is that the LCD screen works perfectly with Ventrillo. It shows me who's talking, what room I'm in and I can even move rooms without minimizing out of the game. Just make sure you go to the Ventrillo setup and allow the G13 access or something like that in the overlay tab. EDIT- It's in the Ventrillo setup under the Global tab NOT the overlay tab, my bad.

I also have a G13 and love it. I have profiles for Rift, GW2 & Diablo along with LCD panels for various widgets. The ability to make custom keybinds/macros is invaluable. The contour of the G13 took me just a bit to get used to but once you are used to it you will wonder how you ever played without one. Pros: Custom keybinds/macros Multiple Profiles Many applications recognize it and have widgets for the LCD (Vent is one) For me it decreases strain on my hand and wrist. Cons: Took a bit to get used to the contour. Does not play nice with the G19 and Advanced Combat Tracker's LCD widget...though that's not a major issue.

I didn't know you could link it to Vent like that . . very cool. Will definitely have to look into that for GW2. I'm so bad at recognizing voices until I'm *very* familiar with them or they're very distinctive. *happy dance*

Cool thanks all. One of the reasons I was leaning against the G13 was that I had read that they havent updated the software in a few years. So I am glad to hear that is not the case. Do you use the thumb pad or no?

I have the thumb toggle programmed to W-A-S-D and absolutely love it. Its increased my mobility in combat tremendously, though it did take some getting used to, to make the movements smooth. I've programmed one of the thumb buttons for my map and the other for my mount (if applicable).

I have the original Nostrom N52, the Razer Nostromo, and the Razer Anansi - I can honestly say, the game pads were very hard for me to get used to, both because of the hand position and not having a hand on the keyboard itself. The Anansi IS a keyboard, with the functionality of the game pads (macros etc) and uses the same software that the game pads use. The Anansi is priced about 20$ more than the pads.

Just a heads up on the G13 . . it seems that at this time in this beta I can no longer bind "letter" commands or now the F# buttons as well to my G13, most sadly missed is the dodge command. The numbers are still fine. It worked fine in the first beta. I have sent in a bug report. *one sad puppy with sore hands* ETA : looked at it with fresh eyes this morning and all fixed. I went to the Logitech website and downloaded the Windows 7, 64-bit software. I have a different interface to work with, but it is working now! *one very happy puppy*
