I know many of you are excited about the pending release of GW 2.I too am quite excited about the pending release of a F2P title MechWarrior:Online.They are running Closed Beta now.

For those who don't know this is a game that originnally started as a Table Top game and has had about 10 different releases on PC.It has a rich history with somewhere in the neighborhood of 200 novels written to take place in this universe

This is a PVP game with the primary battles being 12v12,although the Dev's have hinted at other things in the future.The Dev team(like Rift's) is highly involved on the forums and post quite frequently.

Many of the Houses have an Irish or Scottish element and several Mercenary groups trace their lineage to Earth.

I would be up for that = ) They used to have the games you would actually stand in, and compete against other players here. I think at the theater, a long time ago. Makes me want to reinstall my MW3 and Mercs expansions....

Greetings, I thought I would update the current information that is available on MechWarrior:Online. They are currently in the Closed Beta phase with a few registered players recieving invites.(Not me Unfortunately) At this time 12 Mechs have been revealed, 3 of each weight class.The mechs are varried enough that I have found 1 of each weight class which I would be happy to pilot, if I get to the point that I could afford all of them. The Founders package was revealed and will start selling on June 19.Along with the the other perks ,this package will grant you access to early start which begins on July 17.If you interested check their forums at the link in the first post. I definitely plan on playing this also. Already threw some bucks the devs way, been waiting for a new mechwarrior game for a long time. Pilots name on the MWO forums is Martur.

I'm planning on playing MWO also, being FTP but so far they are claiming not PTW (Pay To Win). It looks like it'll be fun. My callsign is Emissarius.

I have signed up for the beta. I was a big fan of the Mech Warrior series.

My name on the forums is Tuugrymm and callsign is Tuug.I am currently with the Cappellan Confederation,though that is subject to change.While the population of the CCAF is small we already have a Teamspeak server up for House use.This was provided by Goonswarm...Yes they picked the CCAF for their home.Things were a little crazy at first ,but they have calmed down now on all fronts.Nice to know the CCAF has at least one tactically organized group. I'm thinking of joining a House unit,but may end up Mercenary,as I have seen some interesting prospects. Sorry I haven't logged on in a while.I had to take a job as a working Framing Foreman and at age 47 it's killing me .Once I get done with this roof we are on ,it should get better. Glad to see some interest in MW:O. TUUG

For those who haven't checked the MW:O site lately,all Founders get instant access to Closed Beta.The prices(I think) are $40,$60 and $120 for the different levels of Founders packs,which all come with different perks.Hope to see you there :) Tuug

I've been a big MW fan for a long time, and after what seems like ages I'm so glad its coming back, and have been hoping this will be a success since I first heard it was in a pipeline a few years ago. I will definitely be playing.

For Vaygrent and anyone else curious: http://www.mechjock.com/ They still exist and will be back at Gen Con this year. I have never actually played in one, but there is always a long line of people waiting to play. I will be playing MWO until GW2 is released, then most of my game time will be spent there. It does look pretty cool, but I don't know if I will play it long term.

Awesome to see some family members are gonna be playing this! I used to play the table top game when I was younger. I still have all the games and books too... BattleTech, AeroTech, CityTech, the MechWarrior RPG book and the 3050 Tech Compendium. I plan on buying the game today as soon as the darn site comes back up!
