So some people wanted to know how it happened, here ya go. This is supposed to be a "No" contact football league. I know the playoffs bring out the best in people. We darn near broke into a fight several times in this game. Lot's of hot heads and the team we were playing is the 5 season straight men's league champions. They've got some serious ballers on their team. Usually a fun game but the hot heads were coming out.
No matter what that should have been a Penalty... I have seen them throw flags on less contact.
Makes me glad I don't play flag football otherwise if this can be penalized, I'd eventually be thrown out. I don't really consider myself as a dirty player, especially when it's regular football (ie you have pads), but I'd probably be prone to running through people like I was in high school ball. Can you wear a helmet? :P
Thats the crappy part in all this vamp. If this were tackle that dood would be on his back. In this league you literally cant touch anyone. As a DB I can't "Bump & Run". I can't jump up and collide with someone to catch a pass. It's really dummied down. This should have been a flag, and even worse they called it a TD when in the video even though i got a fist/elbow to the face I still grabbed his flag. I just think the head ref seriously had a chip on his shoulder. This wasn't the first bum call he made that game. I've got video of several more.
It was a BUM Call.... I would have been furious... probably thrown out of game :) .. I hope that you kick their bums next time you play them... BAD move on the ref..
Yeah this is why I kinda hate flag football. Spin moves and stiff arms were my bread and butter, along with playing press CB coverage. The first game my fraternity's team played I got called for stiff arming 2 times, 1 for a spin move, and got warned on pressing. Oh well though it's the closest I can get to playing since I chose not to play college ball. Good luck with the season Fog!
wow that looks like it might have been unintentional but at the same time someone that plays more than once every 5 years should be able to avoid that 100% of the time. Rough hit.
