I loved the look and feel of that game. I just wish it wasn't such a grind.
I only played for a few days during the Beta test, then it stopped working and I stopped caring :)
Wanted to love this game so much, the game was so pretty. The character customization was so expansive. And the Endgame RVR looked very promising...Alas I never made it that far because of the very clunky white damage combat system and the very bleh class choices. Even then, I like a good white combat system, but this one failed SO hard.
I tried it for its free trial. I think I deleted it the same day. For some reason I just didn't care for it. But thanks for the info anyways :)
I played this game and was so disapointed with the bots and the gold sellers.. it was ridiculous.. having to fight bots over mobs for quest.. I finally gave up on the game... I loved all the aspects but they would not do anything about the bots.. our guild reported them and they just allowed them.
I really liked the game, but the cost to do anything and the impractical crafting system was rough to handle.
I liked it for a while until it became impossible to do anything without getting ganked.
I played for a while. I think i got a character up to about 25. My friend and I decided not to play because it felt more like work then a game. Everything was just really hard. Finding groups, getting mats, even solo stuff too grindy as the above person mentioned. I really liked the /find system tho. So you could just type /item you are looking for and it would show you on the map. Flying was a cool concept but only being able to fly in short spurts and very particular areas was annoying and took the fun out of it. Never got to the pvp so no idea what that was like. I have played LotR online and I would just rather pay a subscription fee and have everythink open to me then have to pay with real money for the individual things that actually make it playable.
I actually liked the crafting system...how you could proc a blue. However I think the highest character I ever had was level 12. Beautiful game, just didn't keep my interest.
I loved the game for about a month. Then the hackers were at large. My account was hacked 3 times. I had a new computer and new install and it still got hacked. When I called and talked to a rep I was told they were having problems with an "inside hacker." Meaning it was not my fault or from my computer. They were having issues from people inside. I had guildwars as well and it got hacked. I was not even playing the game for many years. I was told I would probably have to start over with a new buy of guildwars and Aion. I actually had to buy guildwars but I didn't buy Aion. I was so discouraged. I'm hoping and praying that the last couple of year they've figured out all who were doing the hacking and we will have a safe place. This is during the time when NCscoft were changing their name and such.
I know that people are looking for something to do until GW2 releases. Aion just went completely free on April 11th and it looks like they added a bunch of new content (including housing).
I started a new character (because I had no idea how to play my old, abandoned one) and am at level 23. No grinding at all so far. There are a ton of new quests and some nice features. They launched a new server with no transfers allowed. Feels like a new game. EU and NA have different pricing models. I haven't had to spend a penny yet. Wish it had launched like this. I might have stuck with it.
If you try it, I'd recommend starting a new character to get a feel for how things work now. In-game surveys are delivered as you level up and point you to features that you'd miss otherwise, like the Atlas.
