Cycling in Michigan

My niece has asked me to take her on this 6-day cycling trip in northern Michigan this July. Is anyone interested in joining us for some exercise?

I am thinking about it using my 36" wheel, but the 57 mile day could be tough for me to keep up with the bikes. Here I am in a Google map 3-D image. Use streetside view on step 5, and you can move around in the image with your mouse. Garden City, Mi to Northville, Mi - Google Maps

No confirmation from the bike trip organizers yet. But the sun is out and it is starting to look like spring, and that is a good thing. 3 balls and 1 wheel

Hit the trails today for the first time this year. The helmet is not only a camera mount.

The confirmation letter for my bike trip in July came today. So no backing out now for me! I guess I had better start riding to get in shape again after spending the winter sitting in front of the computer playing Rift. Anyone interested in this ride? There is still availability as far as I know. Check the link at the beginning of the thread for information.

Just returned from ordering our new bikes for our tour in July. A Trek 7.3 FX WSD for my niece and a Trek 7.3 FX for me. Pack your tent, check your tire pressure and join us. The more the merrier.

First day of the ride is done. Rained all last nIght in camp. Funny, its been so dry at home.

We just got back home! It was a great trip, over 800 riders, 450 for the 6-days portion. I didn't know this event was so big. We had people from all over the country. Lots of good food every day, with little worry of weight gain with all the calories being burned. I had hoped to provide some updates during the trip but very little access to wifi was available in the north woods (who-da thunk it?). My niece is already planning a trip with some of her friends for August in the upper peninsula, which is awesome. After I get a chance to dump the camera, hopefully I will have some pics or video to post.

Glad you had a great trip! Sounds like good times had by all including a way to burn all the good food calories. =D
