Update: I am 100% Pain-Fee in my back and leg (Some surgery related soreness but not on the same pain scale so that doesn't even count lol!)
I had 5 star service from the staff, Nurses and Doctors at: Saint Thomas Specialty Surgery.
Situation: For the past 5 years I have been dealing with back pain, on a pain scale between 1 and 5, two months ago my pain went up to 5-7 pain scale all day so I went to see a doctor and started therapy. The pain progressed to literally "I'm on Fire" 8-9 Pain scale early in the morning or if I was getting in and out of my service vehicle. Something had to be done. Despite a lot of evidence advising against getting back surgery, we agreed to do it based on the surgeon's (biased by nature) recommendations.
My other theory was that someone had made a "Rob Voodoo Doll" and was twisting the leg backwards!
Getting ready to serve lunch to help with the cost of procedures lol!
- Care and Empathy: The empathy level of this staff was obvious from the moment we walked in the door through discharge. The surgery and recovery prep Nurse, Leslie, had obviously studied my case and knew all the relevant details including prior therapeutics and procedures, I was very impressed, to say the least. Very squared away!
2. Being unconscious sure makes the time fly ;) The surgery ran a bit long due to some access problems and some things they needed to Min/Max while they were in there. For example, they cut out some bone and that was not part of the original plan, but Doc said it made a perfect 'conduit' for what he was trying to do. It helped shield the nerve and served as an Armor buff of protection for it. Helping keep my body from spamming the Pain Macro 24x7 anymore! It was good side quest that rewarded the protection buff and hopefully will help me do the main story line chain quest [Real Life: Live Long and Prosper]!
3. Quest Part Completion: As soon as I was awake the Doc checked me out: leg lifts, pressure back on elevated foot, nerve test everything, the results...Pass, Pass, Pass! No friggin Pain! [OMG: It's A Miracle].
Here is a nasty pic of my back with the waterproof bandage (ewwww!):
4. Victory!!! Here is me actually sitting in a car! This was a feat that I could barely accomplish without big medication buffs or a stoic /roll, on and off, for the last 6 months!
A true smile says it all!
The only thing that made it even cooler...I had just got back (on time yay United) from a flight back from Seattle for the Gaiscioch West Coast Celebration!
