Good info. What I really which I knew which of the two subclasses was required for the Job quest in each case. I guess we'll have to wait for someone to actually run the job quests before we know that!
Why can I still not decide between Warrior and Paladin. I should have been able to make my mind up long ago, I was sure I was going Paladin but Warrior is slowly creeping up on the list.
Yeah, I would love to know that as well Shmi. Couldn't find updates regarding that...yet. I purposely left room to fit that info in though, once it becomes available.
I wonder if they'll just let us choose one of the two subs to be 15, or force a specific combo, or require both...or maybe they'll drop the subs and only require the base class! @_@;
So 9 jobs, with 8 classes contributing to a certain number of them with selected abilities. The number in front is how many Jobs each class supplies abilities for, not which ones they are required for. All data from the table above =D
4 Arcanist - All Casters
2 Archer - Bard, Black Mage
5 Conjurer - Bard, Paladin, Scholar, Summoner, White Mage
2 Gladiator - Tank Jobs only
3 Lancer - Bard, Dragoon, Monk
4 Marauder - All Melee Jobs
3 Pugilist - Melee Jobs only
4 Thaumaturge - All Casters.
Scholar, Summoner and White Mage are supported by the same Class mix. Arcanist, Conjurer, Thaumaturge.
Gives some things to think about.

IF i get into this, the one question for me will be Black Mage or Summoner?
@ Ironbars: perhaps if you did less weaving and got your tank on, you would have decided already ;)
@ Gibsauce: Thanks for the work you put in to making the table, I look forward to seeing which classes I need to level for my WHM.
Most exciting for me is that I do not have to play a GLD to level 15 anymore...I suck at melee!
Paladin and Warrior will likely each have scenes they are better able to tank then the other. Both are supported by Marauder and Gladiator. Paladin is supported by Conjurer. Warrior supported by Pugilist.
It is more a choice Conjurer and Pugilist, then between Paladin and Warrior
Or don't choose, and have both in your stable of Jobs :)
Pally works on mitigation and defensive capability, Warrior on high hp pool and regen - or at least that is what I picked up on during beta.
I just received my stone to become a White Mage. As I continue to level as a WM, will my Conjurer also get experience points or are the two treated as separate classes? Will I have to remove the stone to level as a Conjurer?
Thanks.
the main class and the job stay the same level.
Thanks for the info, Izzy !
Soooooo, you can only chose one job, right?
I mean, I might hesitate to chose Warrior until after I try some other classes if it's a "point of no return" choice.
Of can you have multiple jobs and just change out the shard thingy?
You can level multiple (or all) Jobs. So far I have WHM, Scholar and Summoner. Just swap the shard thingy.
Thank you - COOL!
I love the image, that clears it up nicely :D
I'm leveling Paladin first. I have 3 levels of Gladiator to go till I get my quest and I am also thinking about doing Marauder sooner than later. Then I can easily swap between the two tank styles depending on the dungeon, etc.
Otherwise, Scholar is definitely one I want to level sometime when Marrra isn't playing a caster :D
