Champion Point Changes

Ok, so they are changing how Champion Points (CP) will be credited come 1.6  I will try to summarize

-5 CP for each FULL Veteran Rank

-Partial Credit on full 200,000 xp increments

-Maximum CP (based on previous leveling) of 70 CP per ACCOUNT (this is a maximum you can get at launch as part f the conversion, not total maximum)

-The conversion of XP to CP will only happen once and only on characters that have existed since 1.6 goes live.

Should make lots o people happy.  Gina goes through several examples explaining how the system works.  I suggest everyone have a close read.

Calculate your CP's quick and easy!  Click the link above to go to the dropbox file.  In the upper right corner is a big blue download button.  Download and open in Excel.

1. Enter your vet level in the green box next to VET Level

2. Enter in how much XP you currently have on your vet character (hit "c" in game and hover over the XP bar to see actual numbers)

3. Read your results!

Note, this is a quick simple thing and does not include the 70 CP cap!  It is also per character, so if you have multiple VR characters use it multiple times and add the totals.

Oh, and if anyone better at sharing and collaborating wants to, feel free to put this on Docs or something else easier for people to access.  I am off to dinner and don't have time to mess around with it.

Yar! I wasn't too upset about the previous change in plans as I understood their motives, however I am very excited that they were able to find a middle ground. I'm getting the full 70 - woooot!

Yep!  I get the full 70 as well.  Super excited and I like the compromise they came up with.  Well done I think.

I'll be losing out in this system, as a bit of an alt-o-holic and casual player recently, but I see how it is fair.

Is this in addition to the 30 points they were giving for any vet-level toon, or is it in lieu for the flat points award?

@Ezsme, I think they are saying this is a replacement.

Either way, I'm excited for 1.6. I only have one vet character, and he just made V2 recently, so I won't get as many points to play with, but at least I will have something.

Yes, it is a replacement of the 30 point system.  If you have a single VR character and they just hit VR1 and you sat them there, you will get NO Champ Points when 1.6 goes live.  You will have to earn them via the normal progression.  In order to "break even" with the 30 CP rule, you need a single VR character at VR7.  That would net you 30 CPs.  Of course there are numerous other combinations that would also net you 30 CP.

Yeah, I'll get the full 70.  Basically having one full VR14 gets you 70 points at start.  Seeing that I have a 13.3ish and 5.5ish all ready, I'd have more if they didn't cap it at 70.  At the rate things are going I might have my NB in VR by the time 1.6 hits live.  ::chuckles::  I rather think this is a fairer system than the flat rate of 30 just by having a VR of anything.  I even like the added point for each 200K xp to work with the 5 per level.  Some good thinking went into this change at least.

Also figured out you have to have 1,000,000 xp on your VR14 to get the full 70 points if that is the only VR you have.

Then there is the cool thing, if I read it right in the middle of that mess (I was skimming for Gina's posts answering things) where she stated that after the initial hand out any CP you earned can be used by ALL characters.  So I'm still a little confused by that because say I earn 5 CP added to the pool it sounds like every vet toon gets 5 each.  Since it is an account wide pool it makes it more confusing to me since everything else was character based before.  ::chuckles:: 

Anyway, this is way better idea than the 30 flat deal.

Though thinking about it if say they want to give you 5 points per VR on average in the long run, why not just say you get 5 per level and 1 per 200K xp and roll from there.

Gina noted that this was not the case in her post:

• EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Only the conversion system will use 200,000XP for one Champion Point the day the system goes live in Update 6. This is not what it will take to earn a Champion Point while playing normally once the Champion System is live.

The question, though, is will it be more or less than 200k?

Since they said it should take about an hour of "regular" game play to earn a CS point I think it will be slightly less, but that's just based on my personal experience in leveling "normally". Anyone else care to speculate? :)
