Guild Store Update and Information

Hey Everyone,

Just wanted to give you all an update of how the whole system works and whats up with the storefronts.

Gaiscioch Materials - Currently has a storefront locked down in Ebonheart. Sell whatever you can there, materials or not.

Gaiscioch Armory - I bid 10,001 gold last week for the second vendor in Ebonheart next to our other one and got out bid.

Now let me explain how this system works. It is a totally wacked out auction system.

1. You can only bid on 1 merchant per guild
2. There is no way to tell what the highest bid is.
3. There are no refund for bids, If you lose you lose your gold.
4. Profit for the family from last week for Gaiscioch Materials totaled 1,376 Gold. We spent 1,500 to lock down that location.
5. Weekly Merchant rollover is Monday at 5AM PST - All merchants are locked down for the next week at this time.

It will be increasingly more expensive over the coming weeks to secure these locations. If we do not receive donation support we will not be able to keep these open for long. This week I am bidding for Gaiscioch and Gaiscioch Armory on 2 other locations within Ebonheart to see if we can possibly lock one of them down. Bidding on blind auctions is not easy. If we go too high we lose serious amounts of cash, if we don't bid enough whatever we bid is lost. 

Please make sure to stock the merchants up with as much as possible. We need to sell a whole lot of stuff to be able to maintain cash in for cash spent on securing these locations. As always you can send gold donations to @Foley for contribution credit. 1,000 Gold = 100 Contribution. Funding this system is going to be rather tricky.

The part about losing the Bid is not very fair.  

have to admit that losing your bid is a very sad system indeed,  will be sending in donation to help out with that

I really believe you need to /bug not getting a refund on the bid - bids should not work that way.  I can see having it a blind bidding process, but not to refund losing bids is bad form.  It will keep lesser funded guilds from ever bidding since they won't take the chance of losing thousands in gold - or after losing several big bids - they will be broke.

Perhaps we should just concentrate on 1 merchant. I could honestly use the extra guild slot and was already contemplating dropping the armory one as items I placed in there are gathering dust.

I'm shocked the commission was so low. I know I sold a recipe for 75k alone and made over 30k in misc stuff this past week. What % does the guild receive?

In regards to the contribution credit. Do we claim that in the marketplace to obtain the points? I sent 10k gold and not sure I saw the contribution points to my account. I most likely did something wrong... lol.

Might be helpful to create a list of items that are selling well.

Then what most members are supplying.

That way we are putting up items people are buying and and not putting up items others are putting so we don't overload the market.

We could use a Google Spreadsheet?

Cetacea, your welcome to do so however realize Materials may not always be the open store front. Having 3 rooms allows me to bid on 3 stalls. 1 room only 1 stall. I can't guarantee that we will have a storefront each week for any room of the house. I have no way of telling what the highest bid is and I can't bid on more that 1 stall each week per guild. 3 guilds raise our odds.

We get 7% of whatever is sold.

I understand Fog. And thank you for your time and effort as I'm sure this is not easy. I've decided to remove myself from the armory as I need the guild slot. Because of the 30 item limit I was already part of two other trade guilds because I need a good 100+ slots to market my craft and farmed items. This gal likes to shop for the shinies so I need the income.... lol !

I will keep the material guild fully stocked on my end :)

Thanks for the update. I've been curious about how we're managing bidding and contributions. 

Before the traders were available I never bothered to sell to the public, and in the past week I've made over 20k from selling through the Materials shop! Its pretty freakin' awesome, and I will happily send some cash to help further the cause.

And in case you guys aren't already using it, get the Shopkeeper add-on. It is really really helpful in tracking sales and determining good sale prices.
