The Shame in my AvA Dispair

OK yes I went into AvA with a superior attitude and we got steam rolled by Alacrity over and over again.  I went berserk and trashed talked AvA like a true Troll.

Now that I am paying attention to the Death Recaps ( that was a real help BTW ) I am learning there are ways to stop Emperors and their death squads. There are lots of ways to do it, it just takes coordination, proper planing, and team work.   These tools have been there all the time, I was just so despaired about AvA I shut down on it and didn't even bother to look for ways to stop the bowling balls from rolling over us. Trash talking AvA was much easier.  The tools and spells are there, we can stop Emperors and we can win in AvA, Shame shame shame on me for not just picking myself up and looking for a way to overcome rather than just sit here and shake my head in total despair with my finger over the cancel subscription button. ESO is not for the fast rewards gamer.  It is hard and the builds we make and  spells we have can make or break your character.  It takes real team work and is far advanced from the Looking for Tard raids of WoW. Our characters are not locked into a preset success track where all you have to get is the level you need and the preset spells that are available at that level and you can succeed.  NO NO my friends, this is complex, a gauntlet of mix and match, trial and error to perfection .  To top that off not one skill line up will work all the time, you have to mix and match skill line ups for the situation.  Why I thought AvA would be a zerg numbers auto win I have no clue,  I must have been demented.   ESO is not easy, its a combo of fine tuning,  however  WE CAN WIN,  WE HAVE DONE IT,  that makes it for me, I guess, realizing what the game really is was a big part of why I got up brushed off the dirt and dug in.

SO SHAME ON ME FOR EXPECTING THOSE FAST WINS AND FAST REWARDS, THE TRUTH IS ESO IS HARD WORK.  I AM UP FOR IT HOW ABOUT YOU ?

WE HAVE THE TOOLS, WE HAVE THE TALENT, WHO YOU GONNA CALL?      GAISCIOCH !!!!!!!!

Hard work.... no thank you. I look more for "lots of fun" when I think about playing games. If I want hard work that's what I do the rest of the week when I'm at work or doing work on the side just to get by. There is plenty of hard work to be done in life and the escape I expect from all that in games shouldn't require "hard work" from me.

I expect a challenge, and I expect a requirement of skills and learned skills over time, but I just can't see working hard just try and make a game work for me.

Sorry don't want to sound like a negative nancy here.

Heck I may just be in the same disenchanted boat you were in and maybe I'll snap out of it or maybe they'll fix and balance some of their issues over time. Till then though, I find it hard to bring myself to play at the moment. I'm just not getting much out of it.

I think my biggest problem is we have this great family but I feel I'm constantly going solo. I guess I just need to make friends. : P

@ Gideon,  I would try and get back in there once they change the campaigns, you should see a big influx of new faces out there, including some fo our won who have been on the sidelines for a while...  have the low lvl campaigns will all for a more relaxe skill type to go in and have fun in AvA...

as for hard work, well I wouldn't say its hard work,  I just don't think you can go there and fight elitist without having a good plan..... and the biggest thing is, compared to say GW2 WvW is that numbers aren't always the answer......  I would look at it not in the sense that its hard work, but a different play style that we aren't accustom to....

I agree about the feeling of being alone, specially in pve,  even trying to find a group for a dungeon seems to be a pain sometimes....  something the whole family needs to work on I believe... have a feeling everyone is so preoccupied on trying to reach high lvl that they are forgetting to sacrifice a bit of time to help out..... and well for AvA  there are constantly events going, don't be shy to come and join, we always like to see new faces in there....

if all that fails add me to your friends list and harass me once in a while, i'll join you on whatever your working on

I just hit VR1 on my NB, and I'm pretty excited to get involved in the war. I've only dabbled in Cyrodiil so far, but I love the concept of AvA. Battlefield tactics seem like they can really make or break AvA experiences, and I think that's awesome. I'm really looking forward to getting tactical with the fam!

I don't live to win. I live to fight!

"I don't live to win. I live to fight!" Duder   I have had some glorious fights where I die and they meant a lot more to me than the ones where I killed someone one in 3 seconds.  I love using strategy.

Both Myrnbyrd and Doreth have made some good points and not to discount Gideon, but I believe Doreth stated it best "I just don't think you can go there and fight elitist without having a good plan" and you can also learn from them... you should learn from every encounter and sometimes the best lesson is how "not to die" as Kaytlin often states - "you can't do damage if you are dead" and she is so right.

I don't consider ESO hard work - but I do consider it a challenge and that is exactly what I want in a game - a challenge.  There are tactics that work best against certain situations and certain classes and then builds within those classes.  All of the tools - just like Myrnbyrd has stated, are there for us to use.  We just need to have the experience and then adapt.  I have played too much PvP in various games for me to get discouraged by dying.  The leaders we have always make it fun and use tactics to keep us from banging our heads too much - and that's all I can ask.

I feel we've been building the AvA knowledge pretty well.   We'll be ready for the next campaign, no worries.

More pact ballista.

More tactics.

Gaiscioch emperorship awaits!
