In beta, I played a Sorcerer, and at launch I played a Dragonknight. They were both fun, but they didn't quite click for me, and then I took a long break from the game until ZOS dropped the monthly subscription. When I returned, I decided to try a Nightblade and I fell in love with it. I also decided to do something pretty different for me and I made him an Argonian and leveled up alchemy for some potion bonuses.
Along the way, I also decided to level up just about everything. In addition to alchemy, I had blacksmithing, woodcrafting, and clothier going. I was putting points into two handed weapon, bow, and restoration staff, and both medium and light armor so I could easily switch between DPS and healing. Since my DPS skills were all morphed and mostly maxed, at VR1 I respecced for full casting to give that a try.
And I slowly started to go mad. While healing groups is a lot of fun as a NB, solo PVE was miserable. I couldn't sneak fast anymore (my absolute favourite thing), my DPS was worthless, and my inventory was overloaded with stuff I needed to research. Out of 120 bank slots and 100 inventory slots, I'd regularly only have 5-10 free.
A week ago, someone introduced me to the Gaiscioch Marketplace. I've ordered quite a bit of equipment since then, spending points that have built up over the last few years, and as I approached VR2, I realized I didn't need to be able to craft everything under the sun. We're part of a guild to support each other, and I can use the Marketplace to supplement my abilities. So when I hit VR2, I respecced once again, and either deconstructed or sold all the detritus filling my bags. I now have about 40 items total. And when I run across the land, the only glowy things I see are my beloved herbs.
I'm already much happier playing the game this way. Thank you to all our crafters for doing what you do. And I look forward to supplying potions through the marketplace for those who cannot stand alchemy :-)
