Activity Ideas

Now that we got over the hurdle of actually getting into the game, getting the guild to capacity size, and having some better clues about it in general, it is time to expand the fun we do together. This will be a team effort!

Cooking Trade Days

This will be the trading of foods we all need and love. It is probably about the ONLY thing we can really trade person to person directly that is worthwhile. The idea is to meet up for a little while, like maybe an hour, and the cooks come with food and a swap is done along with some general comradery.

Sapheira came up with the idea so I told her to work out a once a week time that worked where she would not have interruptions as much.

Knowledge Groups

I'm not sure if this includes achievements, like kill so many foxes, wolves, weasels etc and just work on that or if it is to expand to bigger things that we all need. People who brought up this idea and have an area of knowledge that would make a fun grouping event need to step up and offer this. There is a LOT of different things that could happen with this. You could even have a crew pickup trade packs and travel together shooting the breeze to increase your trade skill in a fun way.

See how this is a team effort - you know something and think people should work to know it to, then make an event to help people acquire it. =) 

Bracket Leveling Groups

This is one where you all are going to have to make a concerted effort. I am not going to micro manage who is what level and needs what. I want you to say if you are interesting in just going on killing sprees for like an hour or two. You need to step out and say I am this level and want to do this and going at this pace and I play these times, etc. It is NOT going to be easy, but you may even find a partner to play with rather than feeling alone. This way you find some new friends to play with in the guild.

One thing that could happen is maybe a set time a couple times a week we all group up and then get into parties of the right rank to go play at our levels beating on stuff. I need someone who could commit to actually picking a time and scheduling it as a weekly thing for at least one slot to try it out. We do have a good mix of time zones and play time ranges that overlap in this crew.

Conclusion

There are a lot of great ideas of things to do. I can't lead everything, but as your leader I can encourage you to take the initiative to start things, whether a small group that actually plays and levels about the same, a crew that likes to add comradery to the more mundane things, or whatever. We are a very chatty and getting to be close crew, so I don't think there will be issues. Okay, I have heard that some asked to do something and no one came to help at the time, but asking only once in guild chat could be missed. Please use our forums here, the black desert wall on discord, voice on discord, and guild chat together to help make sure communications are seen.

Now that we have ideas of what we can do, please help us all figure out how to enjoy this game more fully together. Please discuss them and let us know accordingly.

NOTE1: I do not want leaders to burn out either. I would love to see several weekly things going on that people can join in on and hear of how smaller groups are leveling together in base level or professional skills. =)

NOTE2: Lorgair or higher can use the calendar and weekly events will definitely show on the main page calendar when you log in.

NOTE3: ANYONE can post as a lead of a social adventure in BDO.  However, there is only 24 hours to claim participation and you need at least three to claim for it to count if i have my math correct. The bigger the event and those that claim it, the more bonus points it makes for those that like see points and leveling over here too. =)

That's a good starting point for us to come up with an activities calendar that will have something for everybody to enjoy:).

I am definitely willing and available to step up to lead some of the activities, but as I did not come up with the suggestions, I will leave the space for those people to step up first. Will see what needs filling up or back up afterward:).

And of course, if anyone wish to lead an event but hasn't done so, or much of it, in the past and would like some guidance or support, please speak up:) we are many that would gladly offer such support and guidance:).

Also don't be shy to throw in other ideas if you get them. Even if you might not be sure how you would like it to be run or how to make it happen.

Let the fun begin! (*oh wait, that part already happened, as we have been having a blast. so let the fun continue!)

re: Bracket Leveling - Good point.

I'm not sure if most folks are aware of it, but you can create (and claim) a SA event, for any activity, as long as it's with 4 or more Gaiscioch family members.  So if some of you get a leveling group together to go out grinding, but wonder if you can claim it... yes, you can.

That is for any game, not just BDO (but chapter games have their own guidelines).  The Social Adventure program is designed to encourage family members to get together and game, no matter what game it is.

edit:  I replaced GSCH with Gaiscioch family members, because folks do not need to be wearing a GSCH tag to participate, they just need to be a member of the Gaiscioch family, which is based on this website

 There are mobs that drop items you can turn in for rewards. 50 hammers, 20 caps, etc, etc. Working on a list. I know there's one that gives you contribution points and silver. I was think of having a Saturday/Sunday afternoon scheduled event to collect these and also get some exp. Working out the details, but I'd like to lead some of these events in BDO.

I like the horse tour idea to, from our own resident master tamer and trainer though you have competition forming in the guild. ;)

I definitely wanna start getting some scrolls done once a few more people catch up to me. I may try to start pugging some so I can get some experience with them and help us out when its time to start doing them in house.

Supposedly with 5 people doing scrolls you can net something like 50-60 blackstones. Dunno how true that is, but definitely interested.
