I'm trying to get a good idea of who will be hitting the game come launch. I'll be about 4 hours behind for work but I should be off that whole week. I'm trying to see if we can arrange a quick grind group to get us to a decent level to help out others before the march 1st date.
I do. I will have to play things by ear, though, in terms of scheduling.
Edit: I should mention here, that I am not sure a grind group is ideal on characters that have gotten beyond the intro quests lines in Velia. You really need to get your Contribution points to connect nodes so you can make some money with trades and selling fish.

Launch? Well, I think a few of us bought the Conq pack, so we'll already be hitting it Saturday night, well technically it's Sunday 3:00am EST / 12:00am PST.

Yeah, I originally thought it was Monday morning early rather than Sunday early. Trying to adjust my weekend plans to this (these plans were set before I decided to even buy this game).
I have the Conquerors pack, and will be hitting the ground running as soon as the black spirit lets me. Have most of my toons made and saved from the character creator.
Yeah we do need contribution points but I need to farm some silver for the guild creation and getting to lvl 20 will grant enough points in a varitiy of things that it will make going thru those quests fast.
The idea is you do all the Olivia quests up to the giant training you on the skill system, and as soon as you get that first black spirit quest we will skip it and move to farm goblins outside of velia. This will get us a decent amount of coin and gear. It won't take long and then we can go back finish the starting quests in olivia. The idea behind this is to get out of olivia and still get to a decent level with some cash. Getting to a decent level and finishing the starting quests allows us to be knowledgeable for other guildies and to not have to fight them for quest objectives as they will have enough of that already.
Also, remember that contribituion points are shared and a fast way of stacking them up is to make a few alts and do this very thing with them. The starting quests will get you about 6-7 contribution points and then you can do it on a few other alts and get an additional 6-7 each time. It also only takes about 15 mins to do.

Excellent several Sunday players. Ok when you get in game start hitting your quests. I'll jump in and get the clan going then get you all invites.

Esca knows to definitely AFK fish for his money's too. That is how I managed to get the clan turned into a guild. However, his idea of getting to 20 to open some things up is not a bad idea. Get enough nodes open to have the trader so he pays full price for them fish. I would aim to make it a guild as soon as you can and then slam the next 100K into it to make it 30 member as fast as possible. Not sure what it takes to bump it beyond 30.
Definitely make sure the 30 member guild has two slots saved - One for Fog and one for me when we show up on March 1st! If we don't get in that screws up the plans laid out by Fog. ;)
Actually might want to save two slots from the beginning just to be sure they are there for Fog and myself just in case some monkey wrench gets thrown in the works to making it a 30 size before March 1st.
SO people need to have some patience if there is not room for them at the very beginning just so the guild setup doesn't go awry. =) I'm hoping you can have it to 30 by March 1st, but all the money forked out has to come out of Esca's pockets in a timely fashion. GO ESCA! LOL!
ADD: As of the time of my post there appears to be 10 or 11 people that will be starting on Sunday.

I don't need to join, so don't count me. I doubt there will be 30 people by March 1st, as long as no one guilds their alts.
Alts don't count in the guild system. It only includes one member and all alts based on the one family name.
Oh yes Bri.. I know about AFK fishing love love love it!
As far as the worrying about members I don't think it will be a problem. I doubt I'll fill it up before March 1 as some people like sekkerhund might not even get with me before then. It's going to be a lot of funds but thats why I want to grind a bit to get those items to sell to vendor to pay for it. So if anyone wants to join the GRIND GROUP starting Monday 1pm CST let me know.

Honestly, if WvW was more... well, what it used to be (hint hint Anet asap... ASAP), I'd not skip the Saturday Fight Night. Because, you know... Saturday night's alright for fighting.
I bought the $100 pack. I get back to San Francisco Sunday Night/Monday Morning around Midnight, so I'll be on Monday for sure. I can't wait. Watching videos every chance I get, between activities here.

Lol RKIIVS you can ask anything you want... we will have casual and hardcore players alike in the guild so everyone will have questions and everyone will have plently of people to help you figure things out.
There is so much content in this game and we have so many players that will all play, explore and advance differently, so the chance of someone having the answer to your question(s) is great!:) And besides, usually when someone ask a question, it is likely there are others around that had the same question but just didn't ask it. So by asking away, you are doing this community a service:).
