Alas, one of the games I have worked with is finally in a place where I want to share it with others. Nearly 5 years ago Black Eye Games put out a self run crowdfunding campaign for a new four faction themed after real world nations with no magic and straight true to medieval combat. I quickly became embedded with the team and flushed out a huge 21 page document outlining the perfect guild system. Years have passed, the map has grown, new factions have been added (now at 3) and the gameplay has drastically improved.
My best description of Gloria Victis is a combination of Dark Age of Camelot and Mount and Blade. You spend some time gathering supplies to craft and upgrade fortifications, but you spend more time fighting both humans and NPCs. There are safe areas where you can play without fear of being attacked that are surrounded by safe-lite areas where you don't have to worry about being looted. Outside of those areas you can be looted within a limit. Players earn loot credits for capturing objectives and killing players. When you are killed by an enemy player they have a 30 second window to loot you and spend their loot credits. The thing is if they loot you, their loot credits go down and they might not be able to loot the next guy who has that glowing sword he wants. So you really need to choose what you loot and when because it may bite you in the keister.
We have formed up the Tuatha guild as a home for any who want to play and Radiologikal and myself are able to make bags to help alleviate your storage woes. Join us every Sunday at 11AM PT for Gloria Victis on Weekend Warriors.
